Tien Giang: Opening of the 3rd Fruit Festival at GO! My Tho Trade Center

(ABO) On the afternoon of May 29, at GO! My Tho Trade Center (My Tho City, Tien Giang Province), the Department of Industry and Trade of Tien Giang Province coordinated with Central Retail Vietnam Group to organize the opening ceremony of the 3rd Fruit Festival in 2025.

Attending the event were comrades: Nguyen Thanh Nam, Deputy Director of the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development, Ministry of Industry and Trade; Le Viet Binh, Deputy Chief of Office, Chief Representative of the Southern Region - Ministry of Agriculture and Environment ; Ms. Wiraka Moodhitaporn - Consulate General of Thailand in Ho Chi Minh City; and comrades: Do Tan Hung, Head of Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Tien Giang Provincial Party Committee; Huynh Van Hai, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tien Giang Province; Luu Van Phi, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Tien Giang Province; leaders of the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho City and the provinces of Bac Giang, Son La, Long An, Dong Thap, Soc Trang, Kien Giang, Ben Tre, Tra Vinh, Vinh Long.

The 3rd Fruit Festival 2025 officially opened on the afternoon of May 29 and will take place until June 1 at all GO! supermarkets nationwide. This is the third time the event has been held, attracting the participation of nearly 43 enterprises, cooperatives and large fruit farms from the provinces of Tien Giang, Son La, Bac Giang , Long An, Dong Thap, Binh Phuoc, Tay Ninh..., introducing specialty fruits such as: Lychee, durian, dragon fruit, orange, mango, rambutan, star apple, mangosteen, coconut, watermelon, cantaloupe, cherry, custard apple, orange, guava, green-skinned grapefruit, pineapple...

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Tien Giang province Luu Van Phi said: “In recent years, the leaders of Tien Giang province have always identified goals and focused on directing localities to effectively implement the Agricultural Development Program towards concentrated and safe commodity production. In the province, a number of large-scale agricultural commodity production areas have been formed, creating many typical products with geographical indications and collective trademark certification such as Cai Lay durian, Cho Gao dragon fruit, Hoa Loc mango, etc. Through this Fruit Festival, we aim to introduce and promote specialty fruits and processed fruit products of Tien Giang province and the Mekong Delta provinces to a large number of consumers, as well as domestic and foreign tourists.

The main activities of this year's Fruit Festival will include a supply-demand connection program, durian buffet, and booths displaying goods... at GO! My Tho and the GO! supermarket system of Central Retail Group nationwide, taking place throughout this year's series of events, creating a space for exchange, learning, sharing and cooperation, contributing to stimulating the consumption of Tien Giang fruits in particular and the whole country in general. The festival is an opportunity for people and tourists inside and outside the province to explore the richness, quality and potential of Tien Giang fruits, while promoting the consumption of agricultural products and developing the local economy."
