Soc Trang invests 175 billion VND in science-technology development and digital transformation

According to Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province Tran Van Lau, the province's implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation is a great opportunity to promote science, technology, innovation and digital transformation in all sectors and fields from state management to socio-economic activities of the province.

Accordingly, the province issued Plan No. 34 dated February 14, 2025 and more than 20 documents for implementation, identifying 48 tasks and 7 groups of solutions.

The tasks and solutions implemented are linked to the responsibility of the head in implementing the tasks within the assigned functional areas. The total estimated cost of implementing science-technology, innovation and digital transformation tasks in 2025 is about 175 billion VND.

At the workshop, delegates were informed about the results of science and technology activities, innovation and digital transformation in Soc Trang province in recent times.

Reports on the development of science, technology and innovation, digital transformation of the agricultural and environmental sectors contributing to the growth of Region I; orientations for coordinating the implementation of scientific research tasks to serve the planning work; management and socio-economic development of the province; solutions on science, technology and digital transformation to promote local economic development; building a roadmap for digital transformation of enterprises, the current status of science and technology activities; innovation and digital transformation at the Soc Trang Provincial Digital Technology Center and breakthrough orientations in the coming time.

He said that the workshop is very important, an opportunity for localities to meet and exchange with experts and scientists on science, technology, innovation and digital transformation.

To successfully and comprehensively implement the goals and tasks of Resolution No. 57, contributing to achieving the growth target of 8% or more, requires leaders at all levels to be aware and pioneer in updating knowledge.

It is necessary to actively promote the application of science and technology in production, effectively implement tasks and solutions to effectively support businesses, and focus on businesses in applying scientific and technological research results.

Thereby improving productivity and product quality, promoting the strong development of start-ups and innovation in enterprises, encouraging enterprises to take the lead in digital transformation and developing the digital economy.
