Boldly volunteering to host provincial-level tournaments, both serving fans and encouraging and promoting the sports movement in the area; maintaining the organization of grassroots sports festivals, creating a vibrant competitive atmosphere between localities as well as paying attention to investing in facilities, meeting the needs of sports training are specific ways that M'Drắk district focuses on implementing, creating a vibrant sports atmosphere and movement...

Most recently, the provincial-level tournament that M'Drắk district hosted was the 2023 Provincial Men's and Women's Volleyball Championship. The tournament attracted 13 of the strongest teams (6 men's teams and 7 women's teams) to compete. As the host, M'Drắk district established two teams, organized serious training, aiming to compete for medals with localities and units that are considered very strong in this sport such as Buon Ma Thuot City, Provincial Police, and the youth team of the Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center.

M'Drắk women's volleyball team won first prize at the 2023 Provincial Men's and Women's Volleyball Tournament.

During the nearly one week of the tournament, a large number of spectators in the district came to watch and cheer on the teams, especially the host team. This is considered the most successful tournament in terms of both expertise and organization, helping M'Drắk district complete its "dual" goal: both promoting the locality and achieving high results (winning the women's event and winning third place in the men's event). From the encouraging results above, the athletes of this sport in M'Drắk district will continue to make efforts and strive to practice to maintain their achievements next year, thereby attracting more people to participate in training and developing volleyball in the locality.

In the coming time, the district plans to build and invest in a mini soccer field and swimming pool to help people have more choices and practice their favorite sports.

To create momentum and a vibrant sports movement, in addition to traditional competitions that take place periodically such as: Olympic Running Day for Community Health, Traditional Cross Country Competition, "Celebrating the Party - Celebrating Spring" Sports Festival, every year the District Department of Culture and Information coordinates with the Departmentof Education and Training, units of the armed forces, police, army, Youth Union, and district women's union to organize many industry sports competitions, attracting a large number of cadres, civil servants, officers, and soldiers to participate in training such as: Badminton, table tennis, volleyball, soccer, with an average of over 60 competitions per year. Along with that, the majority of people in the area are increasingly interested in and aware of health training, participating in sports suitable to the conditions, currently the total number of people practicing sports regularly reaches 32.5%, the number of sports families reaches 23.2%. Since then, the clubs have developed widely, meeting the living and training needs of the people with 11 sports clubs in residential areas and many sports clubs in the district's departments, branches and unions.

Representative of the District People's Committee (second from right) received a Certificate of Merit from the Provincial People's Committee for successfully organizing the 2021 - 2022 Grassroots Sports Festival.

Thanks to the vibrant and widespread development of the sports movement, it has created opportunities for the district to search for, discover, and select outstanding athletes to participate in provincial sports festivals and achieve high results. For example, at the 18th Dak Lak Ethnic Minority Sports Festival in 2022, the district ranked 3rd overall. At the 9th Provincial Sports Festival in 2021 - 2022, the district was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Provincial People's Committee for organizing a good grassroots-level festival.

Although the district still faces many difficulties, the locality is interested in and investing in facilities to meet the needs of people practicing sports. According to current statistics, the area has 274 training grounds; 12 training houses, multi-purpose gymnasiums, 14 mini football fields; 100% of communes and towns have volleyball and football courts. In addition, in 2022, the district inaugurated and put into use the District Sports Center, a fairly large project, ensuring all standards for organizing volleyball, badminton, table tennis, etc.
