Vietnamese tourists see travel as a great opportunity to spend time together
According to recent travel trends, 65%* of Vietnamese tourists see travel as a great opportunity to spend time together, with family trips now not only being an opportunity to sightsee, but also an opportunity to create meaningful moments with loved ones. Booking.com, one of the world's leading online travel platforms, has shared some of the outstanding summer travel trends of Vietnamese families this year.
Traveling becomes part of families' annual plans
More and more Vietnamese families are considering travel as a must-have activity in their annual schedule, not only for relaxation and sightseeing but also for emotional bonding and improving mental health. According to Booking.com’s 2025 Travel Trends Forecast Report*, the top goal of families when traveling is to enjoy quality time together. Notably, 88% of parents said they see travel as an opportunity for their children to be exposed to diverse cultures and have more enriching experiences. Meanwhile, 59% want to explore new dishes and local specialties.
This shift in mindset is also reflected in how they plan, with 58% of Vietnamese parents prioritizing annual travel, regardless of circumstances. Notably, 41% said they plan to increase their travel budget in 2025 compared to last year to create more meaningful and engaging experiences with their loved ones.
List of most searched destinations for families this summer
Although travel needs and goals are gradually changing, the destinations that Vietnamese families are most interested in for summer vacations are still quite familiar. According to search data on Booking.com between June 1 and July 31, 2025, beach trips (61%) and nature exploration (59%) continue to lead the list of choices of Vietnamese families, followed by trips to big cities (45%).
In the country, names such as Da Nang, Nha Trang, Da Lat, Phu Quoc or Vung Tau are the most searched destinations. These places not only provide a relaxing space, but also create conditions for families to enjoy meaningful time together, meeting the diverse needs of tourists of many generations.

Tourists looking for tourist attractions
For international travel, data from Booking.com shows that Singapore, Tokyo and Bangkok are the three most popular destinations this summer. This is also the second consecutive year that these cities have appeared on the list. Notably, of the 10 most searched destinations, 8 are in the Asia-Pacific region, thereby affirming the region's enduring appeal for family vacations in June this year.
