Join hands to build new countryside

Po Nang village (Tu An commune, An Khe town) has 64 households with more than 200 people, the Bahnar people account for nearly 90%. In order to join hands to help poor and near-poor households have more conditions to rise up and stabilize their lives, since the beginning of 2025, the Division has supported 2 breeding cows for 2 poor households.

In addition, the Division also mobilized dozens of officers and soldiers to support workdays in dismantling, clearing land, digging foundations, and leveling the ground to help 4 households with housing difficulties repair and build houses.

Dinh Thi Sieng’s family is one of two poor households receiving livelihood support from Division 2. Sieng shared: “This is a great asset for the family. I try to take good care of the cows so that they can grow. My husband and I raise chickens to increase our income, work hard to produce, and escape poverty.”

Ms. Dinh Thi Pin - Party Cell Secretary and Head of Po Nang Village - said: "Thanks to the attention and investment of all levels and sectors, along with the support of Division 2, the village has completed a number of NTM criteria. Up to now, the village has achieved 17/19 NTM criteria, currently only the criteria for poor households and income remain. These are two difficult criteria. Therefore, we look forward to receiving support from all levels, sectors and the military."

According to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Toan - Chairman of Tu An Commune People's Committee: Every year, units of Division 2 coordinate with the locality to develop plans and work contracts to help the commune build a new-style rural village and an advanced new-style rural commune. In 2024 alone, officers and soldiers of Division 2 dredged nearly 10 km of irrigation canals; upgraded 300 m of residential and intra-field roads; consolidated the traditional medicine garden for Tu An Commune Health Station; planted 5 trees, repaired and repainted outdoor play equipment and tools for children at Hoa Sen Kindergarten. Regiment 1 presented 6 gifts to policy families and poor households.

In Dak Rong commune (Kbang district), in 2024, Division 2 mobilized 506 working days to help villagers of Ha Dung 1 and Ha Dung 2 renovate 6 hectares of rice fields; dredged 500 m of canals in the fields of Ha Dung 2 village...

“Dak Rong is a remote commune with many difficulties. During the process of building the new rural area, the locality received support from Division 2 in terms of human resources and materials, gradually completing the new rural criteria. Up to now, the commune has achieved 13/19 new rural criteria,” said Mr. Le Van Quang, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Dak Rong commune.

Talking about the role of Division 2 in joining hands to build new rural areas in the area, Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong - Vice Chairman of Kbang District People's Committee - assessed: From 2021 to now, Regiment 1 (Division 2) has performed more than 9,000 working days; supported people in preparing land for rice cultivation, relocating and renovating houses; transporting sand and stone to build houses for poor households, making suspension bridge piers to the production area... On major holidays, unit leaders visited and presented gifts to families with revolutionary contributions and poor households with a total value of more than 50 million VND.

“Up to now, Kbang district has 7 new rural communes; 11 villages and hamlets meeting new rural standards. The whole district still has 1,649 poor households, accounting for 8.96%. People's lives have been gradually improved. This result has an important contribution from Division 2,” Mr. Cuong affirmed.

Many practical works and projects

In the period of 2021-2025, Division 2 organized 16 field trips to do mass mobilization work, mobilizing about 40,100 officers and soldiers to participate. Accordingly, the unit cleared 90 km of inter-commune roads; dredged 35 km of intra-field canals; repaired and relocated 29 houses; reinforced 1 communal bridge, 3 irrigation dams; built 350 m of fences and drainage ditches; dug more than 6,000 tree planting holes, septic tanks, and garbage pits; renovated more than 18 hectares of crop land; renovated 5 volleyball courts, and embellished 23.6 hectares of residential landscape, contributing to improving and renewing the face of the countryside.

Units under Division 2 coordinated with local Party committees, authorities, departments, branches and organizations to donate 40 cows, 49 pigs, 9 goats, 19 bags of animal feed and 24 gifts, with a total value of 738 million VND; organized visits and presented gifts to policy beneficiaries, officers and soldiers in difficult circumstances; examined and provided free medicine to 750 people, and provided health consultation to more than 3,300 people. From 2021 to present, units under the Division have received help from 34 poor households, of which 28 have escaped poverty.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Dinh Nghia - Deputy Political Commissar of Regiment 1: Every year, the Regiment organizes field trips to do mass mobilization work in communes in Dak Po and Kbang districts and An Khe town.

“Before each field trip to do mass mobilization work, the unit surveys, grasps the situation, and plans specific activities suitable for each locality. Thanks to that, the projects and tasks meet practical requirements, promote efficiency, and help localities maintain and improve the criteria for building new rural villages, new rural communes, and advanced new rural communes,” said the Deputy Political Commissar of Regiment 1.

Talking to reporters, Colonel Vo Duy Dien - Deputy Political Commissar of Division 2 - said: Promoting the achieved results, the unit continues to coordinate with local Party committees and authorities to organize synchronous implementation, with focus, key points, with appropriate measures and methods, striving to achieve 100% of the signed contents. Participate in supporting localities to build large projects, key projects with practical significance, serving people's lives.

Along with that, continue to promote propaganda and education to raise awareness for officers and soldiers about the position and role of the emulation movement "Division 2 joins hands to build new rural areas" and "Division 2 joins hands for the poor - leaving no one behind".

Each battalion strives to help 1 to 2 households sustainably reduce poverty; 1 to 2 valuable and practically effective projects. Coordinate in the fight against social evils, contributing to maintaining political security, order and social safety.
