One of the contest's contents was the "Spreading Vietnamese History" contest, which demonstrated young people's passion for history.

The journey project "Vietnam echoes historical documents - Vietnamese soul on digital screen" was carried out by a group of three students Le Vu Xuan An, Nong Quoc Hung and Nguyen Duc Toan (Faculty of Information Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education) to build a website to digitize historical relics and red addresses in remote areas.

There have been a number of trends and movements that seek historical and cultural values initiated by young people. I see this as a positive sign to confirm that young people are not bored with history.

Using technology to spread, proud of Vietnamese history

The two completed group products include the website "Tan Phu Hero" in Tan Phu commune, Thanh Binh district ( Dong Thap province) implemented during Green Summer. The other is the website "Kieng Phuoc commune - heroic land" in Kieng Phuoc commune, Go Cong Dong district (Tien Giang province) implemented during Volunteer Spring.

Le Vu Xuan An said that bringing history closer to young people and the international community on a digital platform not only contributes to preserving culture but also creates opportunities to spread humanistic values and good traditions of the nation.

The group applies digital technology to historical relics, focusing on preserving information about places and events associated with promoting and spreading historical values and pride in Vietnamese history.

Specifically, you have coordinated with local officials to collect documents, images and videos from locations. Thanks to technology, you have contributed to making historical stories and information come alive through images. Xuan An shared: "For me, history is not about numbers, names or timelines but about historical values. Surely no young person refuses the history of their country, perhaps they just do not like the way history is taught and learned."

According to the group, it is necessary to digitize and modernize historical content. Using technology such as interactive historical maps, role-playing games or AR/VR technology to recreate historical events will help make historical events more vivid and accessible to young people.

"We should take advantage of social networks to tell short, engaging historical stories. Combining creative content with engaging images and sounds, I believe history is not only educational but also a source of inspiration for the younger generation to be proud of their national traditions," An said.

Reviving the value of historical relics

A group of Saigon University Youth Union members carried out the project "Promoting the value of historical and cultural relics in Binh Chanh district (HCMC) in traditional education for local students".

Student Le Nguyen Kieu Ngan - history pedagogy student (social science pedagogy faculty) - said the topic is not beyond the desire to help students in the area better understand the history of the place where they live.

Ngan said that only by understanding history can one imagine the arduous yet heroic struggle of the nation to gain the independence of today. As a history student and secretary of the Faculty Youth Union, Ngan and her colleagues from the Faculty Youth Union Executive Committee organized a journey to the source to visit red addresses, a 50-minute playground called Dating with Vietnamese History, an online contest, etc.

Ngan said she was very happy that through these activities, she realized the patriotism and respect for the nation's history among the students. "I want to spread my love of history to many people, especially young people, to see the importance of our country's history. I will continue to improve my expertise so that when I graduate, I can bring knowledge and historical values to the next generation of students," Ngan said.

Meanwhile, final year student Le Thi Thanh Tra (University of Technology, Ho Chi Minh City National University) is passionate about the project "Tinh Thuy Duong". The project shares the passion for writing calligraphy in Chinese characters, Vietnamese characters, ink paintings, seals, etc.

Tra said history is a large category and not easy to study in depth, but that journey has been summarized through culture, customs, poetry, and music.

"Talking to young people about loving Vietnamese history sounds a bit abstract, but if you tell them to love smaller categories like poetry, customs, traditional music, and folk instruments, it will be easier to imagine," Tra said.

Citing the recent strong trend of young people wearing traditional costumes on the streets or dressing up as historical heroes to participate in cultural competitions, Tra said this shows that we have a spirit of great potential for development.

"We hope to receive support from state management agencies, creating conditions to spread the love of Vietnamese culture and history more widely in the future," Tra wishes.

Board game "History of the Gods"

Ly Qui Phuc (Than Chu group) launched this project with the hope of creating quality Vietnamese cultural products for culture lovers to experience and be proud to be no less than foreign products.

Another reason is that Phuc felt self-conscious growing up surrounded by foreign cultural products. "I had this idea since 2010, but it wasn't until 2017 that I had enough money and found an artist to start. Currently, the board game has more than 14,000 fans," Phuc said.

Phuc said the project is aimed at serving customers aged 14-40. However, regular players are between 21-36 years old, through which young people can access images of many historical figures of the country.
