Supachok Sarachat was not named in the ASEAN All-Stars squad for the historic friendly match against Manchester United.

Supachok did not have the chance to attend the friendly match with Manchester United.

According to Idoojung (Thailand), the person who scored the best goal in the second leg of the 2024 ASEAN Cup final was not selected by the Football Association of Thailand (FAT). Instead, FAT summoned goalkeeper Patiwat Khammai, defender Nicholas Mickelson and midfielder Peeradon Chamratsamee to represent the country.

This information has disappointed many football fans in the land of the golden pagoda. Supachok is currently still one of the most promising players in Thai football. He is also a rare star of the "War Elephants" who plays regularly abroad, for Consadole Sapporo in the J2 League.

However, the fact that J2 League is still taking place at the end of May makes it difficult to call Supachok back to Southeast Asia for the friendly match with Manchester United. The decision from FAT is also somewhat reasonable.

If the information from the Thai media is correct, other best Thai stars such as Suphanat and Chanathip Songkrasin are not named in the ASEAN All-Stars squad. Currently, based on nominations from member federations, the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) has confirmed 11 players to be included in the ASEAN All-Stars squad.

They include Nguyen Hoang Duc, Nguyen Quang Hai, Do Duy Manh (Vietnam), João Pedro (Timor-Leste), Maung Maung Lwin (Myanmar), Kan Mo, Andres Neto (Cambodia), Bounphachan Bounkong (Laos), Asnawi Mangkualam, Muhammad Ferarri (Indonesia) and Azwan Ali Rahman (Brunei).

The match between ASEAN All-Stars and Manchester United is scheduled to take place on May 28 at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium, Malaysia. Coach Kim Sang Sik will lead the ASEAN All-Stars squad in this match.
