Chery has just confirmed that it will launch a new electric SUV model called iCaur V27 at the 2025 Guangzhou Auto Show, taking place on November 21. This is a model under Chery's sub-brand "iCar", focusing on SUV product lines with a square, powerful style and aiming for electrified off-road capabilities. Originally known in the domestic Chinese market as the iCar V27, the model will use the iCaur name for the international market due to trademark issues. The iCaur V27 is the largest and most premium version of the brand's range, sitting above the smaller V23.
The iCaur V27 electric SUV features a classic boxy body design combined with modern details. The upright stance, thick front and rear bumpers, prominent wheel arches and rear-mounted spare tire create a bold off-road SUV style. The electric iCaur V27 2026 in the Chinese market has dimensions of 4,909mm long, 1,976mm wide, 1,894mm high and a wheelbase of 2,910mm, this model is classified in the E-class SUV segment. Two rear-end designs will be offered: one with a traditional spare tire and one with a box-like rear storage area. Customers can also opt for a split roof, roof rails, tinted glass and wheels up to 21 inches.
At the heart of the iCaur V27 is a 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine, which acts as a generator for the range-extender system, driven entirely by the electric motor. The car has the option of rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive, with the AWD version reaching a total output of up to 335kW. According to CLTC standards, Chery's iCaur V27 electric SUV can travel about 200km purely on electricity, while the total combined operating range is more than 1,000km. Although the interior has not been announced, the high-end versions are expected to integrate an advanced driver assistance system using lidar technology, along with Horizon Robotics processing chips, providing a smarter and safer control experience.
Chery defines the iCaur V27 as a mid-size to large off-road SUV developed on a unibody platform, balancing the practicality of an urban SUV and mid-range off-road capability. In the Chinese market, the new iCaur V27 2026 is expected to cost between 200,000 and 250,000 yuan (equivalent to about 739 - 923 million VND), competing directly with the BYD Fangchengbao 5 and Great Wall Tank 700 Hi4-T.
