Details of Suzuki eVITARA about to be sold in Southeast Asia, running 500km/charge

Suzuki eVITARA has confirmed that it will be introduced in the Southeast Asian market, specifically Thailand, in late 2025, before announcing the official selling price in early 2026.

Suzuki eVITARA 2026 will be imported completely from Maruti Suzuki (India), equipped with a full-time 4-wheel drive system, a 61 kWh battery pack and two electric motors. This is not only a strategic step in technology but also plays a role in building brand image in the transition to electric vehicles.

Suzuki eVITARA was launched globally in November 2024, marking the first time the Japanese automaker officially entered the pure electric vehicle market. After being distributed in major markets such as Europe, Japan and India, the model will officially appear in Thailand later this year.

In terms of design, eVITARA has a neat body with a length of 4,275 mm, a width of 1,800 mm, a height of 1,635 mm and a wheelbase of 2,700 mm. Ground clearance reaches 180 mm, suitable for urban terrain mixed with light off-road.

The rear luggage compartment has a capacity of 306 liters, meeting the needs of daily use well. When placed next to competitors in the same segment such as Honda e:N1, BYD Atto 3 or MG S5 EV, the size of eVITARA is more compact, but still ensures a spacious cabin thanks to a reasonable layout.

In terms of operation, the Suzuki eVITARA 2026 electric SUV model that is about to be launched in Thailand has three different versions. The standard version uses an electric motor with a capacity of 144 horsepower, comes with a 49 kWh battery pack and front-wheel drive.

The Long Range version is still front-wheel drive but uses a larger 61 kWh battery and increased capacity to 173 horsepower. Meanwhile, the top version uses two electric motors in the front and rear, for a total capacity of 184 horsepower and a maximum torque of 300 Nm, with a full-time four-wheel drive system.

The DC fast charging system supports a capacity of more than 150 kW, allowing charging from 15% to 70% in about 30 minutes. According to the NEDC cycle, the maximum distance per charge can reach about 500 km. The interior space of eVITARA is modernly designed with a two-tone black - reddish brown.

The two-spoke steering wheel combined with the electronically controlled gear lever in the form of a rotary knob gives a luxurious feel. The car is equipped with a 10.25-inch digital screen behind the steering wheel, along with a 10.1-inch central touch screen that supports wireless connection of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The premium sound system from the Infinity by Harman brand, along with wireless phone charging, color-changing interior lighting system and a series of amenities such as 10-way power driver's seat, ventilated front seats, 40:20:40 folding rear seats, can recline and slide flexibly, creating a convenient and comfortable space for every journey.

In terms of safety, the car is equipped with the Suzuki Safety Support driver assistance package at level 2, automatic emergency braking system, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist and lane departure warning, blind spot warning, rear cross traffic warning, tire pressure monitoring system, 360-degree camera and front and rear support sensors. In addition, the car is also equipped with 7 airbags including a knee airbag for the driver.

The vehicle is developed based on the completely new HEARTECT-e platform, specialized for electric vehicles. The ALLGRIP-e chassis system with Trail Mode driving mode, eAxles drive shafts for both front and rear axles and limited-slip differential help eVITARA adapt flexibly to many types of terrain. The vehicle's exterior is emphasized with 18-inch alloy wheels, fixed sunroof and active air-flow radiator grille to optimize operating performance.
