Tai Linh, Huong Lan, Thuy Nga visit People's Artist Diep Lang in the US

The funeral of People's Artist Diep Lang took place on the morning of March 16 (Vietnam time) at Vien Quang Pagoda (San Marcos). Relatives including his wife - Mrs. Thu Phong, children and friends were present to see him for the last time.

Artists Tai Linh, Huong Lan, Thuy Nga... came to see off 'councilman' Diep Lang.

Director Diep Tien - Diep Lang's son, stood by his father's coffin, welcoming visitors on behalf of the family. Several artists such as Tai Linh, Huong Lan, Thuy Nga, Kim Tieu Long, Y Phung... came to burn incense and offer condolences to the family.

They confided in each other, recalling memories of the time they spent with the late artist. In their memories, Diep Lang was a strict person, dedicated to his profession and always devoted to his juniors.

Famous singer Huong Lan performed the song Sa mua giong , Kim Tieu Long performed the excerpts from the reformed opera Khong la cat bui, Cat bui cuoc doi i to send him off.

Some domestic artists such as People's Artist Hong Van and Viet Huong sent wreaths to pay their respects.

In addition to the funeral in the US, some colleagues and artists in Vietnam such as director Xuan Phuoc, Meritorious Artist Ngoc Huyen and famous singer Chau Thanh - a student of People's Artist Diep Lang also held a memorial service and prayed for him.

His memorial tablet will be placed at Vien Quang Pagoda. The artist's family announced that they will not accept condolences.

The memorial service will take place from 9am to 10pm on March 17 at Tuong Nguyen Pagoda (HCMC) with rituals including: Buddha worshiping ceremony, spirit placement, visitation, and prayers for the deceased. This is also the place where the memorial service for Meritorious Artist Ngoc Dang was held in March 2022.

In the memorial service announcement, the organizers said that wreaths and condolences will not be accepted. Security and order will be tightened. "To ensure the ceremony is solemn and peaceful, we request that no YouTubers, TikTokers, Facebook streamers, or cameramen be present," said a family representative.

People's Artist Diep Lang's real name is Duong Cong Thuan, born in 1941, originally from Chau Thanh, Dong Thap . He is known and admired by cai luong fans through the roles of councilor Thang in Doi co Luu , councilor Du in Tieng ho song Hau or the plays To Anh Nguyet, Lan va Diep, Nua doi huong phan, Tieng song Rach Gam, Tam su Ngoc Han...
