Temporarily suspending the work of the Commune Chairman due to illegal mineral exploitation.

On the morning of May 23, the People's Committee of Tay Son District (Binh Dinh) announced that it had just issued a decision to temporarily suspend Mr. Ngo Luan, Chairman of the People's Committee of Tay Giang Commune, Tay Son District. The suspension period is 15 working days, starting from May 22.

According to the People's Committee of Tay Son district, recently, people have continuously reported on the illegal mining situation in Tay Giang commune. In response to the above situation, the leaders of Tay Son district have directed an inspection and requested the People's Committee of Tay Giang commune to review and report the specific incident. However, the working process of the commune government was assessed as being unserious and not following the instructions properly.

Mr. Ngo Luan was temporarily suspended from work to conduct an inspection and clarify his responsibilities related to the implementation of the direction of the Chairman of the Tay Son District People's Committee in resolving and handling two cases of illegal sand and soil exploitation in Tay Giang commune.

“Through a surprise inspection, Tay Son District authorities discovered traces of mineral exploitation and mechanical vehicles at the scene. The district has established a working group to verify and clarify the responsibilities of relevant organizations and individuals. The temporary suspension of Mr. Ngo Luan is to ensure that the verification process is objective and clear,” a leader of Tay Son District People’s Committee added.

Mr. Ngo Luan is responsible for handing over all duties as Chairman of Tay Giang Commune People's Committee to Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha Giao, Permanent Vice Chairman of Tay Giang Commune People's Committee during the period of temporary suspension from work.
