Tam Ky launches Action Month for Children 2025

(QNO) - This morning, May 28, Tam Ky City People's Committee held a launching ceremony for the Month of Action for Children 2025 with the theme "Prioritizing resources to complete goals for children".

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Vice Chairman of Tam Ky City People's Committee Do Van Minh affirmed that Tam Ky City determined that the Month of Action for Children is not only a peak period but also a regular reminder of the responsibility of the whole society towards children - the future owners of the homeland and country.

In recent times, children’s work in Tam Ky has achieved many positive results. Support and care programs for children in special circumstances have been promoted. The rate of malnourished children, injuries, and law violations has decreased over the years. The qualityof education has continuously improved.

Up to now, the rate of communes and wards suitable for children annually reaches 95% above the target of 90%; children in special circumstances out of the total number of children account for less than 1.4%; 100% of communes and wards have playgrounds for children above the target of 80%; 100% of children have access to 5-year-old preschool education.

On the occasion of the Action Month for Children this year, the City People's Committee mobilized nearly 200 million VND to present 100 gifts to children in especially difficult circumstances in the community and 200 gifts to children being cared for at social protection facilities in the city...

Tam Ky City currently has 22,323 children, including 44 children living in poor households, 49 children living in near-poor households, 155 children in special circumstances, and 639 children at risk of falling into special circumstances.

At the launching ceremony, city leaders called on all levels, sectors, organizations and the entire community to join hands to protect and care for children. In particular, focusing on promoting communication about children's rights; mobilizing social resources to support children in special circumstances.

Organize safe and healthy recreational activities; strengthen prevention of violence, abuse and injuries to children. Ensure that all children, especially poor and vulnerable children, have equal access to social services, contributing to the effective implementation of the National Action Program for Children.

On this occasion, Tam Ky City People's Committee awarded 200 gifts to children who overcame difficulties to study well, including 50 gifts (VND 1 million/gift) for children in especially difficult circumstances. The total value of the gifts is about VND 70 million.
