Increasing access to new vaccines for people

Đảng Cộng SảnĐảng Cộng Sản04/07/2023

On July 3, in Ho Chi Minh City, EPLUS Research Company - a comprehensive strategic partner of the VNVC Vaccination System and GSK Vietnam Pharmaceutical Company Limited, a member of the world's leading pharmaceutical group GSK, signed a memorandum of understanding on strategic cooperation.

This is a particularly important event and opens up an opportunity for EPLUS's strategic partner, the VNVC Vaccination System, to bring to Vietnam many new vaccines, scarce vaccines in large quantities for vaccination of the people, towards the goal of increasing the vaccination coverage rate, especially for high-risk groups, such as pregnant women, the elderly, people with underlying diseases (diabetes, kidney failure, high blood pressure, coronary artery disease, heart failure, hepatitis, asthma, osteoarthritis, etc.).

Accordingly, the long-term strategic cooperation memorandum signed between EPLUS Research and GSK Vietnam aims to improve the effectiveness of healthcare and bring long-term quality of life to Vietnamese people, through many activities, such as establishing a sustainable and continuous vaccine supply chain, including existing vaccines and new vaccines in the future, expanding vaccine coverage to all subjects, raising public awareness of the role of vaccines in protecting the health of themselves and their families.

According to a recent report by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) on the situation of the world's children in 2023 with the theme "Vaccines for every child", up to 67 million children worldwide missed one or more doses of vaccine during more than 3 years of the COVID-19 pandemic (2019-2021), of which nearly 250,000 children in Vietnam were not fully vaccinated.

WHO is also calling for large-scale catch-up and catch-up vaccination efforts for all children in Viet Nam who missed their routine vaccinations during the pandemic, restoring full vaccination coverage to at least 2019 levels, to avoid any outbreaks of vaccine-preventable diseases in Viet Nam in the near future./.
