According to the inspection team's report, Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front and socio -political organizations have seriously deployed, thoroughly grasped and organized the implementation of Resolution No. 05-NQ/TU. Thereby, the awareness of cadres, party members and people about the important role and position of tourism in socio-economic development has been raised. Localities have issued specific programs and action plans to mobilize resources for tourism development, gradually building typical tourism products. In particular, localities have focused on developing typical tourism products such as: river and garden eco-tourism, sea tourism, festival tourism, community tourism. Typical festivals such as Ooc om boc - Ngo boat racing continue to be maintained and promoted, attracting a large number of domestic and foreign tourists. Along with that, localities have implemented many important projects such as: developing the My Phuoc Melaleuca forest habitat conservation area, the Cu Lao Dung mangrove forest nature reserve, eco-tourism models combined with fruit gardens in Cu Lao Dung and Ke Sach.
Regarding the implementation of the tourism development support policy for the period 2020 - 2025, the province has supported 8 organizations and individuals with a total budget of 1.76 billion VND. However, tourism development still has some limitations such as: tourism products are not diverse, there is a lack of large entertainment areas, high-quality services are limited, investment attraction has not met expectations, and human resources have not met requirements.
Speaking at the meeting, comrade Lam Hoang Nghiep highly appreciated the efforts of departments, branches and localities in the past time; at the same time, he requested departments, branches and localities to continue to promote the implementation of the resolution, focus on building typical tourism products, applying digital technology to tourism development, strengthening propaganda and promotion work, promoting the image of Soc Trang tourism associated with preserving and promoting the local cultural identity; focusing on training and developing high-quality human resources for tourism; continuing to pay attention to and invest in developing infrastructure and services, promoting trade promotion, investment promotion, entertainment areas, contributing to the implementation of tourism development goals, socio-economic development of the province, contributing to sustainable tourism development in the coming time.
