Towards fair and comprehensive education for ethnic minorities
Tay Giang commune was established on the basis of merging the mountainous communes of Lang, Atieng, Anong, Dang, belonging to Tay Giang district (formerly Quang Nam province). This is a strategic area, bordering Laos, with an important position in socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security. The Co Tu ethnic group lives in a concentrated area, preserving many precious traditional cultural values.
Despite many investment policies from the Party and the State, the learning conditions of students here still face many difficulties. The rugged terrain, isolated traffic, and frequent natural disasters make going to school a challenge for students. Lack of facilities, housing, learning conditions, and teaching staff are also major barriers to the local education career.
The seemingly simple dreams of children to study, such as having enough to eat, having a bed to sleep in, and going to school, have become the driving force urging all levels and sectors to continue to invest strongly and deeply in education in ethnic minority areas.

Project of strategic importance, rich in humanistic meaning
The Tay Giang Boarding and Semi-Boarding School Project is part of Da Nang City's policy on developing a school system in 6 newly merged land border communes, with a total investment of about 740 billion VND. The project is planned synchronously, including full classroom areas, student housing, public housing, and community living areas, meeting the learning, training, and living needs of students and teachers in the highlands.
Currently, this area has 20 schools of all levels, including 16 semi-boarding schools and only 1 boarding school, but most of them do not meet the minimum standards of facilities. Complex terrain, harsh weather, degraded facilities, and lack of equipment make the quality of education not commensurate with the potential and expectations of the people.

Touched by the joy, excitement and warm, sincere and simple feelings of the students and people of Tay Giang for the working delegation, speaking at the event, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that our Party and State identify education and training as the top national policy, focusing on investment in improving people's knowledge, training human resources, nurturing talents, and developing the education and training system from preschool to university.
The Prime Minister praised the solidarity and efforts of the Tay Giang commune authorities and people in site clearance and proactive coordination in project implementation. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested Da Nang city to continue studying and implementing phase 2 of the project; if there are any difficulties or problems, they should proactively report to the City People's Committee or make recommendations to the Government for timely solutions.
The Prime Minister requested the armed forces, businesses, and social organizations to join hands to contribute to the cause of education in mountainous areas according to the motto: "Those who have merit should contribute, those who have money should contribute, those who have a lot should contribute a lot, those who have little should contribute a little"; thereby demonstrating the close bond between ethnic groups, for a Vietnam with even development, where no one is left behind.

Nurturing intelligence, building a new generation in border areas
When completed, the school will become a “second home” for children of the Co Tu, Gie Trieng and other ethnic groups living in the area. Not only will it solve the problem of lack of facilities, the project will also help retain students, reduce the rate of dropouts, and create a solid foundation for local human resource training.
Along with other support policies from the Central and local governments, the project is a vivid demonstration of the correctness and humanity of the Party and State's policy of caring for and developing education in ethnic minority, mountainous and border areas.
Comrade A Lang Nien, Secretary of the Party Committee of Tay Giang commune, emotionally expressed: "Without the investment of the Party and the State, our children would hardly have the conditions to study and develop. The school is a symbol of trust, a concrete demonstration of the policy of serving the people."
Determined to realize ethnic and educational policies in disadvantaged areas
The Tay Giang Boarding School Project is part of a series of activities to implement Conclusion No. 81-TB/TW of the Politburo and Resolution No. 281/NQ-CP of the Government on investing in building schools in 248 land border communes. This is a strategic step, demonstrating the high political determination of the Party and State in narrowing the development gap and promoting educational equity.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and representatives of ministries and branches presented many practical gifts to students and outstanding households of Tay Giang commune, demonstrating the deep concern of Party and State leaders for future generations in the highlands.

The project is not only a construction project, but also a solid foundation for the young generation in the border area to rise up, following in the footsteps of their ancestors in building their homeland and protecting the country's borders.
