Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance has just sent a document to the principals ofeducational institutions in the city regarding strengthening the implementation of health insurance (HI) for students.
Over the years, the number of students participating in health insurance has increased steadily, with the state budget promptly supporting 30% of the contribution. However, there are still many non-public educational institutions, especially universities, colleges, and vocational schools, where the rate of students participating in health insurance is still low compared to the average rate of the whole city.
Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance recommends that principals of educational institutions strengthen the dissemination of health insurance policies for students; collect health insurance premiums right from the beginning of the school year, the beginning of the course or when registering for credits in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th years for universities and colleges. At the same time, parents and students are required to provide personal identification numbers/citizen identification cards, ensuring that 100% of students have their social insurance data synchronized with national population data.
