Mr. Ha Van Hai, Tan Lap area, Minh Dai commune received a symbol of support money for house building from the program "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide in 2025".

The family of Mr. Ha Van Hai in Tan Lap area, Minh Dai commune is one of the poor households benefiting from the program "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide in 2025". Mr. Hai's family situation is particularly difficult: his wife died early, two children are still young, one of whom is often sick. The three of them live in an old, cramped and seriously degraded house.

After being approved, in February 2025, his new house started construction and was completed in April with an area of ​​80 square meters, meeting the "3 hard" criteria (hard foundation, hard frame - wall and hard roof) with a total construction cost of 130 million VND.

Sharing with us in his new house, Mr. Ha Van Hai was moved: “Now that I have a new house that is solid and sturdy, I have more motivation to go to work to earn money to raise my children, and my grandchildren also have a place to study and live properly. The kindness of all levels, sectors, relatives and people in the residential area will be something I will always remember.”

Not only Mr. Ha Van Hai's family, in 2025, the entire Tan Son district has nearly 600 households that are subject to the removal of temporary and dilapidated houses. To date, 100% of eligible households have started construction, of which nearly 200 households have completed and put into use.

Mr. Do Van Binh's household in Tan Phu town, Tan Son district is a poor household with housing difficulties and is supported with funding to build a house according to regulations.

Comrade Pham Thanh Tung - Secretary of Tan Son District Party Committee emphasized: "The program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses demonstrates the attention and care of the Party, State and social community for the lives of people with revolutionary contributions, poor households, and near-poor households with economic and health disadvantages. Hopefully, the new houses will be a driving force for families eligible for support to soon stabilize their lives, gradually develop their economy and escape poverty."

The drastic participation of the entire political system together with the spirit of solidarity and sharing in the community has contributed to realizing the dream of settling down for hundreds of households in the mountainous area of ​​Tan Son. Each house built is not only a place to shelter from the rain and sun but also a symbol of humanity, faith and hope for a bright future.

On the morning of May 11, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh , Head of the Central Steering Committee for the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide, chaired the 4th meeting of the Steering Committee to assess the situation and results of the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses and tasks for the coming time. The meeting was held directly at the Government Headquarters, online with 63 provinces and centrally-run cities.

Regarding the viewpoint and orientation for the coming time, the Prime Minister clearly stated that the goal will not change, absolutely no one will have to live in temporary or dilapidated houses, only work, no retreat; basically complete the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide before October 31, 2025, 2 months earlier than the original goal. Prioritize the allocation of resources to support housing for relatives of martyrs before July 27 and for people with revolutionary contributions before September 2.

As of May 7, 2025, there are 15 localities that no longer have temporary or dilapidated houses, including: Hanoi, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Vinh Phuc, Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Can Tho, Khanh Hoa, Tay Ninh, Tra Vinh, Binh Phuoc, Vinh Long, Kien Giang.

In May 2025, it is expected that 6 more localities will complete the Program, including: Son La, Ha Tinh, Binh Dinh, Ninh Thuan, Long An, and Hoa Binh.

In June 2025, it is expected that 16 more localities will complete the Program, including: Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Bac Giang, Hai Duong, Thai Binh, Binh Thuan, Kon Tum, Binh Duong, Tien Giang, Ben Tre, Soc Trang, An Giang, Ca Mau, Ha Giang, Ha Nam, Lai Chau.

The remaining 26 localities strive to complete the Program from July to October 2025 (4 localities in July; 4 localities in August; 9 localities in September and 9 localities in October).
