Domestic coffee prices today
Domestic coffee prices today, May 17, 2025, in the Central Highlands region increased slightly compared to yesterday, fluctuating between 125,900 - 126,200 VND/kg.
Accordingly, traders in Dak Nong province are purchasing coffee at the highest price of 126,200 VND/kg. No change compared to yesterday.
Similarly, coffee price in Dak Lak province is 126,200 VND/kg, up 200 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Coffee prices in Gia Lai province remained unchanged and were traded at VND126,000/kg.
In Lam Dong province, coffee prices increased by VND200/kg to VND125,900/kg.

In the domestic market, the amount of coffee in the hands of the people is still very small, only about 15%. Farmers are selling sparingly, not in large quantities, because the price is not attractive enough.
Overall, this year's coffee supply is assessed to be insufficient to meet demand, but due to the complex geopolitical situation, importers no longer tend to hoard as before but instead switch to buying just enough to minimize risks.
Vietnamese coffee prices edged down slightly from last week, while in Indonesia, the discount was also narrowed as new-crop coffee began to appear on the market. However, some traders said supplies remained quite limited. Vietnamese farmers are holding on to their stocks, believing that current prices are still low, while Brazil and Indonesia also do not have abundant supplies.
World coffee prices today
Coffee prices on the world market fell sharply on two exchanges:
Robusta Coffee (London):
Delivery in July 2025: Down 157 USD/ton, to 4,821 USD/ton.
Delivery September 2025: Down 148 USD/ton, to 4,812 USD/ton.
Arabica Coffee (New York):
July 2025 delivery: Down 10.5 cents/lb, to 364.5 cents/lb.
September 2025 delivery: Down 10.15 cents/lb, to 361.2 cents/lb.
According to experts and businesses, coffee prices on the London floor have recently decreased mainly because Brazil is preparing to enter the harvest season and the market is waiting for the results of negotiations related to the US's reciprocal tax.
During the tax deferral period, businesses rushed to complete delivery contracts. However, with the regulation only applying tax deferral to shipments arriving at ports during the effective period, combined with the fact that transporting coffee from Vietnam to the US takes about 45 days (East Coast) and 10-15 days shorter for the West Coast, the 90-day period is now almost over.
In contrast, Arabica coffee prices remained stable thanks to the main supply from Brazil. Shorter shipping times allowed businesses in Brazil and the US to continue to deliver regularly, thereby keeping Arabica prices less volatile and at a good level.
