On the morning of October 5, speaking at the regular Government meeting in September 2025, Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang said that the growth of gross domestic product (GDP) in the third quarter of 2025 is estimated at 8.22% over the same period.

In the 8.22% growth of GDP in the third quarter, the growth of added value of the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector was 3.74%, the industry and construction sector was 9.46%, and the service sector was 8.54%.

Overall GDP growth in the first 9 months reached 7.84% over the same period, in which the growth of the 3 regions was 3.83%, 8.69% and 8.48% respectively; closely following the 8% growth scenario for the whole year when synchronously implementing the set solutions.

Minister Nguyen Van Thang said that production and business, growth drivers continue to be promoted and renewed, maintaining positive growth momentum. Agricultural and service growth maintained a good growth momentum in the context of being affected by natural disasters, storms and floods, especially in September and the third quarter. The mining industry in the third quarter tended to recover, increasing by 9.8%; the processing and manufacturing industry continued to be the driving force for growth, increasing by about 10% in the third quarter, increasing by 9.92% in 9 months, reaching the scenario (9.9%).

In addition, the consumer price index (CPI) in September increased by 3.38% over the same period, and 3.27% in the first 9 months; supply and prices in areas affected by natural disasters were well controlled. Credit growth was high, and new lending interest rates continued to decline. The stock market and corporate bonds continued to develop vigorously. State budget revenue in the first 9 months reached 1.92 million billion VND, equal to 97.9% of the estimate, up 30.5% over the same period.

The number of newly registered and re-operated enterprises in September reached 27,500, up 55.6% over the same period; in 9 months, it reached over 231,300 enterprises, up 26.4%, the total additional capital of operating enterprises was 3.3 million billion VND, up 186.5%.

Forecasting many new issues, requiring ministries, branches and localities to continue to comprehensively and effectively implement resolutions and conclusions of the Party, the National Assembly, breakthrough resolutions of the Politburo , directions of the Government and the Prime Minister; strive to "achieve and exceed any expected targets and operational scenarios". Accordingly, the Ministry of Finance noted and proposed a number of groups of tasks: Boosting exports, developing harmonious and sustainable trade; Continuing to improve institutions, laws, and reform administrative procedures.
