International visitors skyrocket, total number of passengers passing through Vietnam airports nearly reaches 60 million

(PLVN) - In just the first 6 months of 2025, airports across the country welcomed nearly 60 million passengers, an increase of 9.1% over the same period last year. Of which, the number of international visitors skyrocketed by nearly 13%.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has just announced information on the air transport situation in the first 6 months of 2025.

Accordingly, the total cumulative passenger market output in the first 6 months of 2025 will reach 41.3 million passengers, an increase of 10% over the same period in 2024, of which the international market will reach 23 million passengers, an increase of 13% over the same period in 2024; the domestic market will reach 18.4 million passengers, an increase of 7% over the same period in 2024.

The total commodity market reached 695.7 thousand tons, up 14.6% over the same period in 2024, of which: the international commodity market reached 580 thousand tons, up 17.7% over the same period in 2024; the domestic market reached 115.7 thousand tons, up 1.3% over the same period in 20241.

Passenger volume through airports in the first 6 months of the year reached 59.7 million passengers, up 9.1% over the same period in 2024, of which international passengers reached 22.9 million passengers, up 12.9% over the same period in 2024; domestic passengers reached 36.8 million passengers, up 6.9% over the same period in 2024.

Cargo throughput at airports is estimated at 811.4 thousand tons, up 12.5% ​​over the same period in 2024, of which international cargo output is estimated at 580 thousand tons, up 17.7% over the same period in 2024; domestic cargo output is 31.4 thousand tons, up 1.3% over the same period in 2024.

In the first 6 months of 2025, Vietnamese airlines transported 28 million passengers, down 7.3% over the same period in 2024, of which international passengers reached 9.6 million, up 8% over the same period in 2024; domestic passengers were 18.4 million, up 7% over the same period in 2024.

Regarding cargo transportation in the first 6 months of 2025, Vietnamese airlines transported 223.6 thousand tons, an increase of 6.2% over the same period in 2024; of which international cargo transportation reached 108 thousand tons, an increase of 12.1% over the same period in 2024; domestic cargo transportation reached 115.7 thousand tons, an increase of 1.3% over the same period in 2024.
