Creating livelihoods for ethnic minority women

In order to help many ethnic minority women change their thinking and working methods, create conditions for family economic development, and escape poverty, the Women's Union of Tan Son district cooperated with the Telecommunications Group ( VNPT ) Tan Son branch to organize training courses on "Instructions on applying 4.0 technology in production and product promotion, bringing products to e-commerce platforms" and training on techniques for raising and caring for honey bees.

Creating livelihoods for ethnic minority women

Honey products from the honey bee farming and care model in My Thuan commune bring in an income of 8-10 million VND/month/member.

The training courses attracted 100 cadres, members, business households, traders, groups, cooperatives and households, livelihood groups, economic model cooperatives owned and co-owned by women in My Thuan commune.

Accordingly, the training course "Guidelines for applying 4.0 technology in production and product promotion, bringing products to e-commerce platforms" for trainees is supported in building brands, registering standards according to regulations, building traceability and training on quality management; support in upgrading OCOP products, guidance on bringing products to e-commerce platforms such as Shopee, Voso, PostMart... and approaching digital transformation to promote, develop tourism , boost economic development...

In the honey bee breeding and care technique class, students were given practical instructions by lecturers on the following topics: Biological characteristics of honey bees, the significance of beekeeping, life and organization of bee colonies, modern beekeeping techniques, simple queen creation techniques, bee colony breeding, colony division and bee import techniques, honey extraction and disease prevention for bees...

Thereby, helping students improve their knowledge and access to science and technology in raising and caring for honey bees, thereby encouraging people to boost production to increase income, stabilize household economy, and contribute to sustainable poverty reduction in the locality. The current honey beekeeping livelihood group has a stable income, each member earns from 8-10 million VND/month, so the lives of women have become increasingly prosperous.

This is one of the contents of Project 8 on “realizing gender equality and solving urgent problems for women and children”, aiming to replicate models of economic empowerment for women, promote gender equality and solve urgent problems of women and children; ensure the voice and substantive participation of women and children in socio-economic development activities.
