US technology group values ​​the Vietnamese market

Within the framework of the working trip to the United States and participation in the “SelectUSA 2025” Investment Program in the United States, the delegation of the Ministry of Finance had important working sessions with senior leaders of Intel Corporation and Meta Corporation, to promote strategic cooperation orientations in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors and other fields identified as the core development of Vietnam and the United States in the next decade, thereby contributing to balancing trade and investment between the two countries.

At the working session with Ms. Sarah Kemp - Vice President of Government Affairs of Intel Corporation, Deputy Minister of Finance Cao Anh Tuan said: With more than 130 members from more than 100 Vietnamese enterprises attending the conference, Vietnam became the third largest delegation attending the 2025 US Investment Summit. This also demonstrates the consistency and commitment of the Vietnamese Government in considering the United States as a comprehensive strategic partner and a leading destination for Vietnamese enterprises seeking cooperation and investment opportunities in the US market.

Along with that, Mr. Cao Anh Tuan also highly appreciated Intel's commitment to sustainable investment in Vietnam over the past 20 years, and recognized Intel's pioneering role in cooperating with the National Innovation Center (NIC) to implement the "AI for All" program, a breakthrough initiative to popularize artificial intelligence knowledge, contributing to training more than 10,000 high-quality human resources in the field of semiconductors and AI for Vietnam.

Representative of Intel Corporation, Ms. Sarah Kemp highly appreciated the Vietnamese Government in general and the Ministry of Finance in particular for having special incentive policies for pioneering investors in the high-tech field.

“We thank the Vietnamese Government for supporting companies to develop high-tech industries, especially in terms of development policies,” said Ms. Sarah Kemp.

Also within the framework of the working trip, on May 13 (local time), Mr. Vo Xuan Hoai - Deputy Director of the National Center for Innovation and Creativity and some members of the Ministry of Finance's working delegation had a working session with Ms. Molly Montgomery - Director of Public Policy, in charge of the US market and colleagues at Meta DC.

At the meeting, Ms. Molly Montgomery assessed that Vietnam is an important market for Meta and is becoming more and more important in the context of many factories moving to Vietnam.

Meta representatives also appreciated the way Vietnam has proactively responded to the US Government's tariff-related issues. This is important for the policy of continuing to invest and expand investment in Vietnam.

Sharing information with Ms. Molly Montgomery, Mr. Vo Xuan Hoai said that Vietnam is making commitments and taking practical actions to promote investment attraction and development of high-tech and semiconductor industries. Typically, the Government has issued Decree 182/2024/ND-CP to establish an Investment Support Fund to support businesses investing in AI, high-tech, and semiconductor technology in Vietnam.
