RT reported on May 14 that India and Pakistan expelled each other's diplomats , accusing them of engaging in espionage activities.
India on May 13 ordered the expulsion of a Pakistani diplomat, citing “activities outside his official role” and alleging that the official was involved in espionage. New Delhi also formally protested to Pakistan’s charge d’affaires over the official’s actions, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement.

In response, Pakistan asked an Indian diplomat in Islamabad to leave the country.
" The Government of Pakistan has declared an employee of the Indian High Commission in Islamabad persona non grata for engaging in activities incompatible with his position," the Pakistani Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The measures come days after India and Pakistan reached a ceasefire agreement on May 10.
However, just hours after the ceasefire came into effect at 5 p.m. on May 10, cross-border shelling between Indian and Pakistani troops resumed. Srinagar, the capital of Indian-administered Kashmir, was also rocked by large explosions.
