Focus on improving the quality of mass education

The province currently has 1,379 educational institutions, with 706,506 children, pupils, students and university students from kindergarten to high school, continuing education and secondary and college schools. The total number of managers, lecturers and teachers is 38,441 people.

In the 2024-2025 school year, the education sector has completed its tasks as planned. The scale and network of schools and classes have been consolidated and developed steadily. Educational institutions have actively and proactively developed school education plans suitable to the situation of staff and facilities; organized inspections and assessments according to the orientation of developing students' qualities and abilities.

Individuals who were former Heads of the Department of Education and Training who retired according to regulations received awards from the Department of Education and Training at the conference.

Education in ethnic minority areas has been given attention and implemented effectively. The gap in educational quality between regions in the province has gradually narrowed; the quality of mass education has been improved; the quality of key education has been affirmed with many outstanding results.

The quality of universal education (PUE) and illiteracy eradication is maintained and improved: achieving the 5-year-old preschool PUE standard; achieving the 2nd level PUE standard; achieving the 1st level PUE standard; achieving the 2nd level PUE standard.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thien Van highly appreciated the achievements of the education sector in the 2024-2025 school year. In the 2025-2026 school year, the education sector needs to continue to innovate and improve the quality of comprehensive education; have solutions to overcome the local surplus and shortage of teachers. At the same time, effectively implement vocational education at all levels; vocational training associated with job creation for students.

On this occasion, the Director of the Department of Education and Training presented certificates of merit to 10 former Heads of the Department of Education and Training who retired according to regulations; presented flowers to congratulate 14 former Heads of the Department of Education and Training who continued to work at commune-level authorities and educational institutions in the province.
