Focus on promoting APEC 2027 Conference in many forms

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Ho Van Mung emphasized that the APEC 2027 Summit is an especially important event, requiring the entire political system in the province to be highly focused and carry out tasks with a proactive and decisive spirit.

He requested departments, branches and localities to urgently complete human resource training, especially tour guides, taxi drivers and direct service groups.

In particular, it is necessary to promote propaganda about the APEC 2027 Conference in various forms so that people clearly understand the meaning and goals of this important international event.

Regarding the sub-project of upgrading and beautifying the infrastructure of Phu Quoc special economic zone, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee directed to focus on 5 key groups of tasks: Implementing new investment projects; beautification and upgrading projects; State management tasks on land, construction order, urban aesthetics; list of tasks related to propaganda and promotion including billboards, street name boards, etc.; researching and proposing check-in points.

Up to now, the progress of works and projects serving the APEC 2027 Summit has basically been guaranteed according to the set plan. The remaining task of the units is to focus on removing technical and professional obstacles so as not to affect the overall progress.

Project owners and investors must regularly inspect the site, urge construction progress and implement items in the most urgent spirit, ensuring project completion 3-6 months before APEC 2027.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of An Giang province requested that in the reports sent to the province in the coming time, each investor must include detailed results, clearly assessing the volume of work done and the work behind schedule, as a basis for the province to direct and promptly resolve issues, ensuring the common goal of serving APEC 2027.

Approved the overall plan of the province's activities

According to the People's Committee of An Giang province, the province has approved the overall plan of the province's activities to serve the organization of APEC 2027 activities in Phu Quoc special zone; promulgated and established steering committees, working groups, sub-committees..., to serve the preparation for the APEC 2027 Conference.

The People's Committee of An Giang province has requested sub-committees to urgently develop detailed sub-projects for each assigned task, clearly defining goals, tasks, milestones and products to ensure effective implementation of tasks serving APEC Year 2027.

Regarding the progress of the implementation of 21 projects serving the APEC Conference, they are divided into 2 groups. Group 1 is 10 public investment projects. In this group, 9/9 projects are classified as urgent works and have been issued construction orders according to regulations.

All 9 projects have been approved for investment and completed the selection of construction contractors. The urban metro line project (section 1) is implemented under the PPP method, so no emergency construction order has been issued. There has been a decision approving the investment policy and a decision approving the form of investor selection and the results of investor selection in special cases.

Group 2 includes 11 investment projects under the public-private partnership (PPP) and business investment methods. Currently, 11/11 projects have selected investors in accordance with regulations. Projects in the PPP group and the business investment group have ensured full implementation of procedures, ensuring progress requirements and compliance with the law.

Public investment projects serving APEC 2027 have been allocated a total capital plan of VND4,296.27 billion in 2025, including VND2,751 billion from the central budget and VND1,545.27 billion from the local budget. As of November 17, the cumulative disbursement reached VND1,666.5 billion.
