The rivalry between goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen and Barcelona is getting more intense as the season approaches.
The captain refused to sign a consent form allowing the club to send a medical report regarding his back injury and surgery to La Liga's Medical Committee to assess the severity and determine the length of his absence.

For their part, Barca is considering opening an internal disciplinary case because they believe Ter Stegen 's actions are causing direct harm to the club.
Currently, without Ter Stegen's consent, the situation is completely stagnant. This refusal causes Barca to face serious difficulties.
Before the surgery, Ter Stegen announced that doctors estimated he would be out of action for around three months “out of an abundance of caution” .
This prediction goes against Barca's plan, which requires a minimum of four months off to take advantage of a special clause that allows 80% of long-term injured players' salaries to be used to register new players.
It all started when Barca tried to "kick out" Ter Stegen by recruiting Joan Garcia and extending Wojciech Szczesny's contract until 2027.
But Ter Stegen refused to leave. He started pre-season in the gym with back problems, and eventually went under the knife.
Taking that opportunity, Barca planned to register Joan Garcia. This caused tense disagreements.
Barcelona have decided to leave it to La Liga's medical board to decide how long Ter Stegen will be out. "The progress of his recovery will determine when he will be able to return," the club said in a statement.
Everything is stalling and turning into open war.
