Proceed to release the golden mountain tortoise into the wild

Previously, this extremely endangered turtle was discovered in her garden by Ms. Dang Thi Thuy Lieu in Huong Tho commune ( Hue city) and she voluntarily surrendered it with the wish to be released back into the wild.

After receiving it, Hue City Forest Protection Department took care of it and completed the required documents and procedures before releasing this rare and precious turtle into the natural environment.

The Golden Mountain Tortoise (Indotestudo elongata) has been upgraded from Endangered (EN) to Critically Endangered (CR) by international wildlife conservation organizations with a very high risk of extinction in the wild.
