On the afternoon of July 28, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced that Thailand and Cambodia will sign an unconditional ceasefire starting at 12:00 p.m. today.
Speaking after reconciliation talks in Malaysia, Prime Minister Anwar said: "Cambodia and Thailand have reached a general agreement on an immediate and unconditional ceasefire effective from 24:00 on July 28, 2025."

The statement came after the leaders of Thailand and Cambodia met in Malaysia's federal administrative capital Putrajaya to discuss a ceasefire after a five-day conflict between the two countries. Prime Minister Ibrahim mediated and chaired the meeting. Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet and Thai Acting Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai were also present. US Ambassador to Malaysia Edgard D. Kagan and his Chinese counterpart Ouyang Yujing were also present.
This is an important opportunity to help end the conflict between the two Southeast Asian neighbors and find a solution to the border tension through diplomatic channels.
