Thanks to that, the quality of teaching and learning in Thai Nguyen province is increasingly improved. The province maintains and consolidates its position as the leading educational center of the northern midlands and mountainous region.
Infrastructure Determination
At the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year, teachers and students of the Ethnic Boarding School, Campus 2, Bac Kan Ward, were excited to receive the good news that the school's facilities will be invested in by the province to be renovated, upgraded, and expanded. This has been the wish of many generations of teachers at the school for many years.
Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, Campus 2, is a school that nurtures the future of ethnic minority children in 37 northern communes of Thai Nguyen province. Established in 1991, despite several renovations, the school's facilities are no longer able to meet the needs of teaching and learning. According to Principal Vi Thi Thu Trang, the school has a training scale of 12 classes with a target of 420 students per year.
However, due to the lack of facilities, the school can only enroll about 130 to 140 first-grade students each school year. This new school year, there are more than 400 students registered for admission, but the school can only enroll about 40% to ensure the quality of education as well as take care of the students' lives according to the characteristics of a boarding school.
Faced with this reality, Thai Nguyen province has decided to implement a project to upgrade and expand the school from an area of over 3.4 hectares to over 7 hectares. The class size has increased from 12 to 30 classes, meeting the number of students of over 1,000, ensuring that each year 10 new classes with 350 students will be recruited. The school has renovated the school's headquarters, green campus, upgraded classroom areas, renovated the dormitory with 158 rooms, upgraded items such as: Canteen, library, school health, multi-purpose hall...
Dia Linh Primary and Secondary School, Cho Ra Commune, has been in disrepair for many years. The impact of storm No. 11 has caused landslides in some areas of the school grounds, causing unsafety. Directly inspecting the school, Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Secretary Trinh Xuan Truong immediately directed Cho Ra Commune to urgently develop a plan to propose a new, suitable location to relocate the entire school. Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Secretary directed the Department of Construction to conduct a comprehensive review of all schools in 37 northern communes, areas with many hills and high mountains, located in weak geological locations, at risk of unsafety, to advise the province on timely solutions.

According to the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province, the whole province currently has 976 educational institutions with more than 433,000 students. From 2021 to 2025, the province has invested more than 4,800 billion VND to implement the project to ensure facilities for public kindergartens and general schools. From this capital source, the province has built more than 2,000 new classrooms, 1,600 functional rooms, auxiliary works; purchased more than 7,000 computers, 7,500 minimum teaching equipment, and more than 23,000 other equipment. To date, the rate of solid classrooms in Thai Nguyen has reached more than 88%; 742 schools have met national standards, accounting for more than 77%. Many schools are equipped with smart classrooms, interactive boards, and STEM rooms, facilitating teaching and learning.
Comprehensive development care
After the merger, the administrative boundaries of Thai Nguyen are larger, which means the scale of education has also changed comprehensively, including urban, rural, mountainous, remote and isolated areas, more students, more difficult areas, posing new challenges for the education career. Right at the beginning of the new school year 2025-2026, the People's Council of Thai Nguyen province passed 5 important Resolutions in the field of education, focusing on policy contents: Support for teaching and learning English; support for lunch money for public preschool children; support for teachers and students to train and compete for excellent students; support for teaching and learning Vietnamese for ethnic minority children before entering grade 1; support for meals for students in ethnic boarding schools.
These resolutions clearly demonstrate Thai Nguyen's policies and actions in caring for educational development, covering many subjects, from preschool children, primary and secondary school students, ethnic minority students to teachers and experts. In particular, the resolution to support food and lunch money for preschool children and boarding students is a step to care from the roots. The policy to support teaching and learning English is a driving force to accelerate integration. The policy to support excellent students shows priority and encouragement for training talents. Supporting teaching and learning Vietnamese for ethnic minority children before entering grade 1 is a humane commitment to not leave any student behind due to language barriers...
