Workers' Month 2025 in Hanoi:

This is not only an occasion to show gratitude to workers but also strongly affirms the pioneering role of the working class in the new era - the era of national growth.

The mark of the trade union organization

Hanoi Transport Trade Union provides free health check-ups for 2,000 union members on the occasion of Workers' Month 2025.

Since the beginning of the year, the working and production atmosphere in industrial zones has always been very urgent. Production pace has been maintained at enterprises with stable orders, especially in the fields of animal feed processing, seafood processing for export, etc. This positive signal shows that the labor market in Hanoi is on the rise.

However, besides the bright spots, according to a survey by the Hanoi City Labor Federation, there are still thousands of cases facing difficulties. It is also worth noting that some units, businesses, and construction projects are negligent, subjective, and do not pay attention to occupational safety and hygiene.

Vice President of the Hanoi Labor Confederation Nguyen Huy Khanh, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Organizing Committee of the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Hygiene and Workers' Month 2025, said that, accompanying workers, the capital's trade unions at all levels have synchronously and widely deployed activities to care for union members and workers with the motto of being practical and effective, helping them have "Ensured rights and better welfare". The highlight is that the trade union organization has strengthened the assessment, identified risks and proactively implemented measures to ensure occupational safety and hygiene at units and production areas. Units attach importance to updating the labor market database, focusing on retraining, regular training, expanding and spreading the emulation movement of good workers and creative workers, creating motivation for employees to make efforts to contribute.

Along with that, the trade union organization consulted with the Party Committee, coordinated with the authorities at the same level and the employers to contact and dialogue with union members and workers, thereby promptly grasping and resolving the legitimate petitions of workers. The trade union organizations at all levels also visited, presented gifts and granted subsidies to 2,271 workers who had occupational accidents, occupational diseases, and were in difficult circumstances with an amount of more than 2.3 billion VND.

Also during Workers’ Month, many “Union Shelters” were presented to workers, with an average support cost of 40 million VND/house. Among the workers who benefited from this care was Nguyen Thanh Huong, a teacher at Trung Hoa Primary School (Cau Giay District). After more than 20 years of raising two children alone, one of whom has Down syndrome, with many difficulties and hardships, now with the support of the union, Ms. Huong was extremely moved and expressed her deep gratitude to the unions at all levels and her colleagues for helping her family have a solid shelter.

Variety of care activities

According to the reporter of Hanoi Moi Newspaper, at the grassroots level, activities during Workers' Month do not stop at programs and slogans.

Chairman of the Long Bien District Labor Federation Nguyen Truong Giang said: Through the review process and proposals from grassroots unions, the District Labor Federation has decided to award free health insurance cards to 10 cases of relatives of union members and workers in difficult circumstances. Those receiving support include the parents, wives, husbands and children of union members. Mr. Vu Xuan Lai, an employee of Trong Nghia Joint Stock Company - one of the union members whose wife received a health insurance card, could not hide his joy and emotion: "This gift is really practical for my family, helping my wife have the conditions to take care of her health, reducing the economic burden if she unfortunately gets sick".

This May, in addition to regular activities to care for and protect the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers, one of the key contents that Hanoi Electricity Corporation has widely implemented is the emulation movement "Creative Labor" and the program "10,000 initiatives in Vietnam Electricity Group, period 2025-2028". Along with that, the unit reviewed and completed management records on occupational safety and hygiene, fire prevention and fighting at the company, such as: Determining the responsibility regime in occupational safety and hygiene; occupational safety and hygiene plan; regulations, procedures, safety measures for jobs, machinery and equipment; maintaining and developing the movement "green - clean - beautiful, ensuring occupational safety and hygiene". The unit also organizes training and drills on fire fighting plans, emergency plans for occupational accidents and incident handling, etc., contributing to making occupational safety a habit and a way of life for all officers and employees.

Understanding that health is a "valuable asset", contributing significantly to improving labor productivity and efficiency of production and business activities, the Labor Federations of the districts: Bac Tu Liem, Ba Dinh, Phu Xuyen organized free reproductive health check-ups and early cancer screening for workers.

Workers' Month 2025 also marked a strong impression of the Cau Giay and Hoang Mai District Trade Unions with a series of practical and meaningful activities for union members, workers, civil servants and laborers in the district. In particular, the program "Thanking workers", praising "Excellent workers", "Initiatives and creativity" became outstanding highlights, demonstrating the deep concern of the Trade Union organization for workers.
