In set 1, the Vietnamese girls started well but lost the game due to poor first step, allowing Thailand to win 25-17. In set 2, Bich Tuyen and Thanh Thuy helped Vietnam take a 5-point lead, but consecutive errors gave their opponents the opportunity to turn the game around, winning narrowly 26-24.
In set 3, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet sent Vi Quynh onto the field, and together with Bich Tuyen, she shined, helping Vietnam win 25-17. In set 4, Vi Quynh continued to share the scoring burden with Bich Tuyen, helping the home team win 25-22, equalizing the score at 2-2.
