In order to promptly prevent and stop violations of the law, ensure stability of exchange rates and the foreign exchange market, the State Bank has just issued a document requesting the State Bank Branch Region 1 and State Bank Branch Region 2 to be in charge of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

Specifically, the State Bank requires strengthening inspection and examination of foreign currency buying and selling activities of credit institutions.

The State Bank branches in the above two areas proactively advised the City People's Committee to direct local authorities (especially the City Police) to coordinate in inspection and examination work, focusing on illegal foreign currency buying and selling locations, promptly detecting violations for strict handling.

Request to report to the Governor on the implementation status before November 10.

Faced with the complicated developments of the world economy , in recent days, the domestic foreign exchange market has seen a difference in the exchange rate between the Vietnamese Dong and the US dollar in the banking system and the exchange rate traded on the unofficial market.

Last weekend, the State Bank issued a document requesting the Ministry of Public Security , the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Government Inspectorate to direct their functional units to inspect, examine, supervise, and manage foreign exchange activities of organizations and individuals in the economy.

Timely detect violations of foreign exchange management, especially illegal foreign currency buying and selling activities and unofficial foreign exchange market activities; strictly handle violations of the law (if any) according to regulations.
