The administrative-political center of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, worth more than VND1,000 billion, was previously proposed by the Department of Finance to convert its function into an educational and medical facility.

The old Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Administrative - Political Center is located in Ba Ria Ward (HCMC), built on a land area of ​​about 20 hectares. The project started in 2009 and was completed in 2012, with a total investment of more than 1,000 billion VND from the local budget.

Recently, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Finance has updated and adjusted the plan for arranging and assigning working headquarters for agencies and units after the arrangement in the area. Notably, it is proposed to hand over the old Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Administrative - Political Center to the Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy to use as an educational and medical facility.

According to the HCM City Department of Finance, after many departments, agencies and branches were relocated and concentrated their work in the center of HCM City, the old administrative center only used a small part of the area to handle transition work.

The old Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Administrative Center consists of 6 clusters of buildings from 5 to 6 floors high, built according to a centralized and unified architectural model. The project is designed to serve the activities of the administrative, state and political sectors of the province, including the Conference Center, the headquarters of the Party - mass organizations, the headquarters of the government and the headquarters of the People's Committee - Provincial Party Committee.

In addition to the main construction blocks, the center also has synchronous investment in many auxiliary items and technical infrastructure such as regulating lake, water supply and drainage system, power grid, green campus and camera surveillance system, ensuring full service for the operational needs of the entire area.

After more than 13 years of use, the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Administrative Center still retains its spacious and modern appearance. The infrastructure and landscape here are regularly maintained and repaired, helping the project to always be in a stable and clean condition.

The old Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Convention Center building is located in the Administrative Center campus, and used to be the venue for many important meetings and events of the province.

Standing out among the complex is a lake of more than 1 hectare, not only creating a landscape highlight but also helping to regulate the air for the entire area.

According to records, the Party and mass organization buildings at the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Administrative Center (old) are now almost out of operation, the parking area is deserted. Since July 1, after the merger of administrative units, most of the departments and cadres of the Party agencies have moved to the center of Ho Chi Minh City to work. In the administrative headquarters area, there are still some cadres assigned to work on-site, but the number of people coming in and out for work has decreased significantly compared to before the merger.

The administrative and political center of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province (old) is surrounded by new, spacious, clean and beautiful roads, creating an airy and modern space.

According to the HCM City Department of Finance, there are currently more than 200 houses and land in the area that have not been allocated for use. This agency has received dozens of proposals from central and local agencies and public service units regarding the need for office space, and is coordinating with relevant parties to submit to the HCM City People's Committee for consideration and resolution according to its authority.
