Improve voluntary blood donation mobilization skills for volunteers

On October 30, the Provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation, Khanh Hoa Provincial Red Cross in collaboration with the Provincial Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center and the Xuan Hai Commune Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation organized a training course to improve capacity and skills in propaganda and mobilization of voluntary blood donation in the locality. The training course was attended by more than 50 trainees who are Red Cross officials, union members, members of unions and core volunteers of Xuan Hai Commune.

Students of Vinh Hai commune were trained in propaganda and mobilization of voluntary blood donation.

At the training course, trainees were equipped with basic knowledge about blood and voluntary blood donation; the role and significance of the blood donation movement in humanitarian work, saving lives; effective propaganda and mobilization skills in the community; methods of organizing, maintaining and replicating voluntary blood donation models at the grassroots level. Trainees also discussed, exchanged in groups, and shared practical experiences in propaganda and mobilization of blood donation in localities that have done well in the movement.

Previously, on October 28, the program was held in Vinh Hai commune with more than 50 trainees participating in the training.

Since the beginning of the year, the Provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation, the Provincial Red Cross, and the Provincial Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center have coordinated with relevant units to organize 152 voluntary blood donation campaigns, mobilizing more than 26,800 participants. As a result, more than 24,650 units of donated blood were collected.
