Young people enthusiastically set out to defend the Fatherland

(VLO) Joining the jubilant atmosphere of the military enlistment day of young people nationwide, 1,297 outstanding young people in the 2025 military recruitment season of the province enthusiastically joined the army, determined to fulfill the sacred duty of youth to the Fatherland.

Responsibility of youth

The image of Uncle Ho's soldiers is always a shining example for every generation of Vietnamese youth to follow. The army is a great school, a dream and a goal for many youth in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

Studying and training in the military environment is an honor, pride, and also a responsibility of every youth. In the military, youth are trained in character and capacity, thereby having the right awareness and actions regarding the task of building and protecting the Fatherland.

According to the Law on Military Service (NVQS), NVQS is the honorable duty of citizens serving in the People's Army. Citizens of military service age, regardless of ethnicity, social class, belief, religion, educational level, occupation, or place of residence, must perform NVQS according to the provisions of this law.

The ceremony to send off citizens to join the army was held by communes, wards and towns on the morning of February 12.

For many young people, besides the sense of responsibility and revolutionary tradition of their homeland, family background is also a great spiritual motivation for them to promote the spirit of volunteering of youth in the work of protecting the Fatherland.

New recruit Nguyen Huynh Khoa (Loc Hoa commune, Long Ho district) just graduated from university with a major in tour guide. Instead of looking for a job right away like many of his peers, he registered and was lucky enough to be selected for military service in 2025.

Explaining his different path from his friends, Khoa said he wanted to train his courage and determination to overcome all difficulties and challenges so that he could have a solid foundation to enter life in the future.

The Faculty also affirmed the sense of responsibility to the Fatherland: "Performing military service is also an opportunity for young people to contribute to the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland, protecting the revolutionary achievements of our predecessors who fell for peace, national independence and happiness for the people."

Khoa's mother - Ms. Nguyen Thi Cuc Em said: When we knew that my son wanted to contribute his youth to the country and society, my family wholeheartedly supported and encouraged me to feel secure in my career and try to fulfill my duties as a youth for the Fatherland.

In the military, young people have the opportunity to study the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws and policies on national defense and security, and strategies for building and protecting the Fatherland. Having passed the police service, new recruit Nguyen Quoc Su (Long Phuoc commune, Long Ho district) believes that the experiences and knowledge he is about to acquire will be extremely useful and valuable.

According to Su, studying and training in the military environment helps young people become more resilient, mature, and ready to face and overcome challenges. From there, they raise awareness, revolutionary vigilance, and have a firm political stance against the enemy's distorted arguments. This is also an opportunity for young people to practice self-awareness, discipline, awareness, and neatness in all work.

Determined to complete the mission

Promoting revolutionary traditions and maintaining achievements over the past years, the work of selecting and calling foreign citizens has been carried out strictly by Vinh Long province, in accordance with the law and instructions of the Ministry of National Defense.

The review process is conducted democratically, fairly and transparently. Departments, branches and organizations participate in propagating, educating and mobilizing the masses to strictly comply with the Law on Military Service, and encouraging children to strive to fulfill their responsibilities to the Fatherland.

Activities to visit and encourage the spirit of families and new soldiers are regularly carried out by all levels and sectors.

Thanks to his family's encouragement, new recruit Truong Phi Long (Binh Phuoc commune, Mang Thit district) said he felt more excited and confident. Before leaving for the army, Long said he had "prepared well mentally and physically", and expressed his determination to complete all assigned tasks with good results.

For new recruit Vo Nguyen Tan Dat (Dong Binh commune, Binh Minh town), always aware of the responsibility of youth towards the Fatherland, he was very happy to receive the call to serve.

“I am very excited and ready to go to the army because I believe the military environment will help me become more mature. I promise to strive, study hard, train and strictly follow discipline to become a good soldier in the Vietnam People's Army,” Dat shared.

In the bustling atmosphere of the first days of spring, on the morning of February 12, communes, wards and towns in the province organized a ceremony to send off citizens to the army. In addition to meaningful gifts, contributing to encouraging the spirit of great concern, the Party Committee, the local government and the people expressed their trust in the excellent children who went to the army to always uphold the revolutionary tradition of their homeland, strive, cultivate, train and mature in the military environment.

The new recruits join the army with ambitions and dreams, adding to the revolutionary tradition and love for their homeland and country. With the strength of the youth, with the spirit of volunteerism and strong will, regardless of difficulties and hardships, they contribute to the cause of building and protecting their homeland and country.
