Strengthening the special solidarity relationship between Vietnam and Laos at the United Nations

Last weekend, Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, Head of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations, led a delegation from the Vietnamese Representative Office in New York (USA) to congratulate the Lao Delegation to the United Nations on the occasion of the 49th anniversary of the National Day of the Lao People's Democratic Republic (December 2, 1975 - December 2, 2024).

According to VNA correspondent in New York, in the atmosphere of friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos, Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang warmly congratulated the important achievements that the Party, State and people of Laos have achieved in socio -economic development and international integration.

The Ambassador particularly appreciated Laos' success in its role as Chair of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in 2024 in the context of many fluctuations in the international and regional situation, contributing to further strengthening ASEAN's solidarity and central role, as well as enhancing Laos' position and prestige in the international arena.

The Head of the Vietnamese Delegation affirmed his wish to continue promoting the tradition of close coordination and trust between the two delegations at the United Nations in the coming time, making practical contributions to the implementation of the independent and autonomous foreign policy, promoting the role of each country at multilateral forums, and at the same time constantly tightening the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos and Laos and Vietnam.

Appreciating the comradely and brotherly sentiments of his Vietnamese colleagues, Ambassador Anouparb Vongnorkeo, Head of the Lao Permanent Mission to the United Nations, sincerely thanked the Vietnamese Delegation for their close cooperation and effective support over the past time, especially during the Lao Delegation's role as Chair of the ASEAN Committee in New York (ANYC).

The Ambassador, Head of the Lao Delegation, believes that Vietnam's foreign affairs achievements in recent times, including the contributions of the Permanent Mission to the United Nations, are an important foundation for Vietnam to enter a "new era, an era of growth," with the companionship and support of the brotherly country of Laos./.
