More than 20 Vietnamese publishing units attend the Frankfurt International Book Fair

Vietnam hopes to use the Frankfurt Book Fair to promote cooperation in publishing, translation, copyright exchange, as well as expand investment in digital publishing, e-books, audiobooks and international copyright.

On October 15, at the Frankfurt International Book Fair (Germany), the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism chaired, together with Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam Publishing Association, publishers and distribution units to organize the opening of the Vietnam Book Space.

This year, more than 20 Vietnamese publishing units attended the Frankfurt Book Fair, introducing over 1,200 books in many fields: Culture, history, literature, popular science , children's books, digital transformation and digital publishing.

Mr. Phan Tam, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said the Frankfurt Book Fair is a symbol of creativity, dialogue and cultural cooperation - a place where cultures meet, listen and enrich each other.

“We appreciate the spirit of openness and respect that the Book Fair has maintained and promoted over the decades. This year, more than 20 Vietnamese publishers and cultural organizations attended the book fair. Nearly 100 delegates participated, expressing the common aspiration to bring Vietnamese books closer to global readers,” said Deputy Minister Phan Tam.

Through the Frankfurt Book Fair, Vietnam hopes to promote cooperation in co-publishing, translation, copyright exchange, as well as expand investment in digital publishing, e-books, audiobooks and international copyright platforms so that Vietnamese stories can reach readers everywhere faster and more conveniently, making Vietnam a creative, dynamic and trustworthy partner in the world publishing community.

Kim Dong Publishing House has participated in the world's largest annual book fair four times.

This year, Kim Dong Publishing House introduces many new books, converging the following elements: Meaningful and attractive stories, beautifully illustrated, honoring Vietnamese culture, and containing global creative elements.

Notable among these publications are: “Yersin-The Whale Song” - an artbook about the legendary life of Doctor Yersin; two sweet, poetic children's literature works by Dy Duyen , “The things you use to fill a hole,” “From the vegetable fields at Cuc Cu farm” ; “The Selected Vietnamese Artists” by Dr. Tran Hau Yen The; literary works and comics for children: “The Filial Puppet” (Phong Thu), “Warm Coats” (Vo Quang), “The Adventures of Cricket Ut” by artist Linh Rab, inspired by the work “The Adventures of Cricket” by writer To Hoai.

Ms. Vu Thi Quynh Lien, Deputy Director and Editor-in-Chief of Kim Dong Publishing House, hopes that the books introduced at this year's Frankfurt International Book Fair will bring to readers and children in every country in the world books that are valuable in content, art, and aesthetics, helping readers understand more about the culture, country, and people of Vietnam; and nurturing the dreams and aspirations of children on their journey of learning and exploring the world.

On the afternoon of October 15, the Vietnamese delegation worked with the Vietnamese Consulate General in Frankfurt. During the meeting, the Vietnamese delegation presented books to the Frankfurt Consulate and the Vietnamese community in Frankfurt.

On October 16, Ms. Vu Thi Quynh Lien will participate in the discussion: "From Bangkok to Manila: Exploring the Southeast Asian children's book market"./.

The 77th Frankfurt International Book Fair takes place from October 15 to October 19, 2025 in Frankfurt (Germany) with the mission of "connecting people." This is the largest and oldest book fair, bringing together publishers from all over the world.

The total exhibition area of ​​Vietnam Book Space is about 100m2. All Vietnamese booths are present in Hall 5.1, located in a convenient location.
