On the afternoon of February 21st, Mobile World Investment Corporation held an online meeting to update its quarterly business results.
At the meeting, the board of directors and company management directly answered questions from investors and shareholders regarding business results and business direction for 2025.
According to the report, Mobile World 's net revenue in 2024 reached VND 134,341 billion, a 14% increase compared to the previous year; after-tax profit was VND 3,733 billion, an increase of more than 21 times. Online revenue exceeded VND 9,600 billion, accounting for 7% of the company's total revenue.
The revenue structure by chain shows that Bach Hoa Xanh accounts for 30.6%, Thegioididong and Topzone 22.4%, and Dien May Xanh 44.3%.
By the end of 2024, the Thegioididong and Dien May Xanh chains had 3,047 stores, a decrease of more than 200 stores compared to the same period in 2023. Despite the decrease in the number of stores, the chain still achieved a 10% revenue growth.
All product categories of The Gioi Dien Dong (Mobile World) are experiencing growth.
All product categories experienced growth ranging from 5% to 30%. Refrigeration appliances, tablets, and mobile phones saw double-digit growth; laptops and household goods experienced single-digit growth, while electronics saw a slight decrease. Revenue for the Bach Hoa Xanh chain increased by 30% year-on-year, reaching VND 41,100 billion.
Mobile World Group has a business plan for 2025 for its Thegioididong and Topzone chains. Accordingly, it aims for revenue exceeding 4,000 billion VND despite unfavorable market conditions. Offline business will not expand, and the company will consider replacing or closing inefficient stores, focusing instead on increasing revenue from existing stores.
Regarding the online market, the focus is on building a destination for technology and electronics shopping. The Bach Hoa Xanh chain plans to increase revenue by at least 7,000 billion VND, open 200-400 new stores, and achieve a 300% increase in online sales, aiming for a revenue of 10 billion USD before 2030.
Mr. Vu Dang Linh, Chief Financial Officer of The Gioi Dien Dong (Mobile World), believes that consumer behavior is changing rapidly, with strong growth in online sales. The traditional market model will weaken, creating an opportunity for Bach Hoa Xanh (Green Department Store) to dominate the market in the near future.
Despite years of restructuring and improvements, the An Khang pharmacy chain remains inefficient. Therefore, the group continues to aim for break-even by the second quarter of 2025.
