Hojlund's dilemma at MU

Rasmus Hojlund's future at Old Trafford is uncertain after MU signed striker Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig.

Hojlund doesn't really want to leave MU.

According to ESPN , Hojlund does not want to leave Old Trafford, but also understands that his playing opportunities this season will be very limited. MU is not forcing him to leave, but is willing to listen to all offers, from selling to loaning. AC Milan plans to loan Hojlund for a season with an option to buy in the summer of 2026.

"Hojlund doesn't want to leave because Manchester United is his childhood dream, but the current situation has forced him to a forced turn. The Danish striker may have to leave to find another chance to play and save his stalled career," Goal wrote.

Hojlund, who moved to MU from Atalanta for £72 million in the summer of 2023, had a decent debut season but has completely declined in the last season. Newcastle and Dortmund are also closely monitoring the situation. If Alexander Isak leaves Newcastle, Hojlund could be chosen as the number one striker at St James' Park.

With Sesko joining United for £73.6m and a guaranteed starting spot under coach Ruben Amorim, and Dutch striker Joshua Zirkzee as a reserve option, Hojlund's position is under threat. With no European Cup this season, United want to streamline the squad and reduce the wage bill.

Hojlund is considered a potential striker, but his form and confidence have dropped to their lowest point. Last season, he was often overwhelmed by Premier League defenders, failing to create a reliable attacking fulcrum for MU. Returning to Serie A, where he once shone with Atalanta, could be the ideal choice for Hojlund to restart his career.
