2024 and the trend of “connecting to heal, healing to develop”
After the Covid-19 pandemic recedes, “inner connection” and “healing” are terms that are often mentioned when people understand the need to care for and nurture their physical and mental health.
Social researchers have identified a growing trend toward self-care and healthy living. Holland and Barrett’s research predicts 2024 to be the year of “natural energy.” Specifically, people will protect themselves and take care of their bodies using natural methods.
Synthesis on social networking platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok... shows that experiential activities such as discovery tourism , survival experiences, scuba diving, boating, horse racing, long-term camping... are the most popular because of the factor of restoring the connection between people and people, between people and nature.
Humans crave to get closer to the energy of nature.
Horseback riding – a sport of connection and strength
Unlike activities that require survival skills and special tools such as mountain climbing, scuba diving, and cave exploration , horseback riding is considered a gentle sport for people who love nature and seek experiences that have a positive impact on mental health.
“Equestrian therapy” has been around since ancient Greece and continues to be effective today. According to a study by Tuba Tulay Koca and Hilmi Ataseven in January 2016, horseback riding therapy provides physical, cognitive, and psychological benefits, helping to improve balance, coordination, joint mobility, muscle tone, posture, as well as increase communication and social interaction. Even for healthy subjects, horseback riding enhances reflexes, promotes blood circulation during exercise, making the mind clear and refreshed.
By 2021, the British Equestrian Trade Association estimated that 15 million people worldwide participated in equestrian sports, an increase of 3.5 million compared to 2021. This growth is expected to continue for many years to come. Notably, up to 75% of participants in this sport are women, demonstrating the safety of this sport.
The proud subject of modern "young aristocrats"
When introduced to Vietnam, equestrian sport has created a big craze, especially among the upper class. Famous stars such as singer Ho Ngoc Ha, singer Hong Nhung, or interior designer Thai Cong... also pay special attention to this sport.
Equestrian sports are warmly welcomed in Vietnam
Currently, Vietnam has recorded the appearance of more and more horse riding clubs with huge investments in Hanoi, Hai Phong, Saigon, Quang Ninh... These clubs all have common features such as large spaces, professional coaches, modern and quality equipment, promoting the wave of horse riding sports to spread to young people. Despite the high cost, ranging from 6,000,000 to 10,000,000 VND for a training course or a free annual training card, this "aristocratic" sport is still increasingly sought after. However, unlike other common sports, horse riding requires participants to be guaranteed space, equipment and coaches.
Quickly grasping the trend and meeting the needs of the people , large real estate investors such as Vinhomes have planned to bring horse riding into the utility experiences in urban areas , with the desire to bring a complete living space, new generation standard class to the majority of residents.
It is known that this “big guy” is about to launch a specialized horse riding academy, built on the premises of a high-end project in Hai Phong with a “huge” scale and investment. This place will not only be a place for training and entertainment, but students will be trained “from A to Z” in this sport, under the guidance of professional coaches, exclusively for those who are serious about pursuing the “aristocratic” hobby or moving towards professionalism. Therefore, the “red phoenix flower city” is expected to soon become the center of attention of elite generations who love horse riding.
