Looking back over the past 5 years, Thanh Hoa sports have really made great strides, leaving a clear mark on the Vietnamese sports map. With the attention of the province and the persistent efforts of coaches and athletes, Thanh Hoa's high-performance sports have not only affirmed their position in the domestic arena but also reached out to the international arena.

At the 31st and 32nd SEA Games, the Thanh Hoa delegation contributed 34 medals of all kinds to the Vietnamese sports delegation, including many valuable gold medals. Names such as Hoang Thi Tinh (Judo) - 3-time SEA Games champion and the only representative of Thanh Hoa to participate in the 2024 Paris Olympics, Le Thi Hien (Vovinam) - 2023 World Gold Medalist, Nguyen Thi Phuong Hau (Muay) - 31st SEA Games Gold Medalist and 2023 World Champion, or Nguyen Thi Thanh Truc (Jujitsu) - "queen" with 5 gold medals and 2 bronze medals at the Asian Championship... are all vivid evidence of the development of Thanh sports.

Solid foundation, towards the golden arena

These figures are not only the result of individual efforts but also the result of Thanh Hoa province's systematic and long-term strategic investment in sports development. The movement "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" has spread strongly; more than 44.8% of the population regularly exercises, over 30.9% of households are recognized as sports families, 100% of schools fully implement physical education programs, and 100% of officers and soldiers of the armed forces meet physical training standards.

Along with that, the Sports Congress at all levels and the 9th Thanh Hoa Provincial Sports Congress in 2022 were successfully organized, affirming the scale, stature and strong mass sports movement.

In addition, Thanh Hoa also organized the opening ceremony of the National Archery Championship on October 4 , 2025 , gathering 150 coaches and athletes from 12 provinces, cities and sectors across the country to compete.

Also in the year, the province focused on organizing competitions in the program of the 10th Thanh Hoa Provincial Sports Festival in 2025 : On October 4-5, 2025 , the events of Con Throwing, Stick Pushing, Crossbow Shooting, Tug of War and Volleyball took place at Hong Duc University Stadium, with 558 athletes from 38 commune and ward delegations across the province; On October 11-12, 2025 , the Vovinam Tournament was organized within the framework of the Congress, gathering more than 300 athletes and coaches from 18 delegations, competing in 28 competitions.

The consecutively organized sports events not only affirm the organizational capacity, infrastructure and prestige of Thanh Hoa , but also create a strong driving force for the development of the mass sports movement, contributing to raising the local image on the national sports map.

During the same period, Thanh Hoa sports teams continued to achieve impressive results when participating in 121 tournaments , winning 947 medals of all kinds (290 gold medals, 266 silver medals, 391 bronze medals).

In particular, the Thanh Hoa Wrestling Team excellently won 4 medals (2 gold medals, 1 silver medal, 1 bronze medal) at the 2025 Southeast Asian Wrestling Championship held in Singapore - a clear demonstration of the maturity and aspiration to reach the regional level of Thanh Hoa sports.

Meanwhile, Dong A Thanh Hoa Football Club, despite being in a difficult period, still shows a resilient fighting spirit in V.League 2025 - 2026 , determined to overcome challenges to return to the race stronger.

Long Son Thanh Hoa Cement Women's Volleyball Team also successfully retained their position with two matches left, ending the season in 6th place overall, showing their perseverance and desire to reaffirm their position in the coming seasons.

Looking forward to the 33rd SEA Games (December 2025 in Thailand), Thanh Hoa is making careful preparations to turn this congress into a "golden arena". Many strong sports such as judo, vovinam, pencak silat, jujitsu, muay, wushu, taekwondo, boxing, weightlifting, rowing, canoeing... are all present, opening up great opportunities for Thanh Hoa athletes to continue to affirm their class and make important contributions to the overall achievements of the Vietnamese sports delegation.

From mass movement to high-performance sports, Thanh Hoa is showing a comprehensive and sustainable development of sports. If the grassroots sports movement is the root, then the national and international medals are the “sweet fruit” of the whole cultivation process.

In that strong flow, Thanh Hoa high-performance sports is not simply a story of numbers, but a symbol of the spirit of overcoming difficulties and the aspiration to rise up of the people of Thanh - resilient, persistent and strong-willed.

The leader of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism affirmed: “With proactiveness, flexibility, creativity and the spirit of overcoming difficulties, Thanh Hoa high-performance sports has marked a new and comprehensive development milestone. This is an important foundation for us to continue realizing the goal of developing provincial sports by 2030, with a vision to 2045, towards international standards.”

The resounding victories at home and abroad are a clear affirmation: Thanh Hoa is not only a land of cultural and historical traditions, but also the cradle of sports talents and Vietnamese pride.
