On July 4, in Hanoi , the Vietnam Sports Administration and Dreamax Technology Joint Stock Company signed a cooperation agreement on the application of AI technology in high-performance sports training.
Speaking at the ceremony, Director of the Vietnam Sports Department Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet affirmed: "The goal of Vietnamese sports in the coming time is to conquer the gold medals of Asiad and Olympics with the athletes' own strength.
To realize that, the application of AI technology in high-performance sports training is very necessary, especially in the current digital technology trend that is developing strongly in all areas of social life."
The leader of Vietnam's sports industry also said that according to the plan, next week, the Department of Sports and Physical Training will develop an implementation plan for the athletics department and carry it out for about 2-3 months. If positive results are achieved, other sports will be expanded.
According to the supplier's representative, the application of AI technology will optimize training and optimize individual performance. Indicators will be collected from athlete monitoring devices (including environmental factors, space, etc.), then behavior analysis will be conducted to predict the risk of injury.
Previously, during a working session with the Vietnam Sports Administration on June 23, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong affirmed that this is the right time to deploy AI applications in training to improve sports performance.
The Deputy Minister requested urgent parties to urgently develop a detailed plan and implement it as soon as possible. In the next 2 months, it is necessary to collect initial information to support the assessment and preparation of forces and athlete lists for the 33rd SEA Games.
