About 9 million USD more in foreign non-governmental aid to support Quang Binh in mine clearance

Under the new agreement, the Quang Binh Provincial People's Committee and Peace Trees Vietnam will implement mine clearance and victim support projects with an estimated budget of 9 million USD in the period 2025 - 2030. The agreement not only aims to clear mines but also focuses on developing infrastructure, improving people's lives and promoting people-to-people diplomacy.

On January 8, 2025, the People's Committee of Quang Binh province held a working session and signed a cooperation agreement for the period 2025 - 2030 with Peace Trees VietNam (PTVN).

At the meeting, Vice Chairman of Quang Binh Provincial People's Committee Hoang Xuan Tan highly appreciated the cooperation results and activities of PTVN in Quang Binh in recent times and suggested that PTVN continue to seek and mobilize resources to maintain and expand the scale of mine clearance activities.

Ms. Claire Yunker, CEO of PTVN, said that PTVN will continue to cooperate with Quang Binh province through the signing of a cooperation framework agreement for the period 2025-2030 to support localities still affected by the war in the Central region.

Accordingly, the two sides will sign an agreement to expand the scale of mine clearance and victim support in the 2025-2030 period with an estimated budget of about 9 million USD. The goal is to make Quang Binh a mine-safe province; at the same time, continue to build infrastructure, support sustainable development and strengthen people-to-people diplomacy .

PTVN is a US non-governmental organization, established and operating in Vietnam since 1995 and is one of the first foreign non-governmental organizations to come to Vietnam to support overcoming the consequences of war. Currently, PTVN operates in the field of supporting overcoming the consequences of war and community development in the provinces and cities of Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Hue and Quang Ngai .
