This is a special milestone, not only for the Brazilian player personally, but also reflects the progress in the professional development and international integration strategy of Vietnamese football.
The naturalization ceremony was solemnly held with the presence of representatives of the Department of Administrative Justice ( Ministry of Justice ), Hanoi Department of Justice, Vietnam Department of Sports and Physical Training, Vietnam Football Federation, Hanoi club and the player's family.
Wearing the traditional Ao Dai, Do Hoang Hen sang the Vietnamese National Anthem in its entirety during the flag-raising ceremony, expressing his respect and attachment to his new nationality. He emotionally shared: “I am very happy, proud and grateful. I love the country and people of Vietnam and now I am a part of this place. I long to contribute to Vietnamese football and will do my best to respond to everyone’s trust.”
Since signing the contract with Hanoi Club in May 2025, both sides have agreed on a long-term orientation, in which naturalization is a strategic step. Realizing the compatibility in both expertise and personality, the Board of Directors of the Capital Club has accompanied Hendrio throughout the entire process of learning Vietnamese, understanding Vietnamese culture and laws, and completing legal procedures in accordance with regulations.
This process is carried out with close coordination between the club, the Vietnam Football Federation, the Vietnam Sports Department and relevant authorities, ensuring transparency, efficiency and compliance with legal procedures.

Having officially become a Vietnamese citizen, Do Hoang Hen will be eligible to play in the V.League 2025/26 from round 7, when Hanoi FC welcomes Ninh Binh at Hang Day Stadium on October 18. This return is expected to increase the creativity of the capital team's midfield - where he once affirmed his class with sophisticated handling, modern tactical vision and high ability to create breakthroughs.
Not only at the club level, Do Hoang Hen is also expected to become a strategic choice for the Vietnam national team in the near future. In the context of Vietnamese football lacking a true “number 10” attacking midfielder, giving a chance to a player with technique, understanding of Vietnamese culture and a desire to contribute like Do Hoang Hen is a direction worth considering.
Deputy General Secretary of the Vietnam Football Federation Nguyen Minh Chau also expressed his hope: “We are very excited to have another member in the Vietnamese football family. Congratulations to Do Hoang Hen, with a new life, a new mindset in Vietnam. Hopefully, he will continue to demonstrate professionalism, dedication and bring practical contributions to Vietnamese football”.
Do Hoang Hen's story reflects an increasingly clear development trend: Vietnamese football is gradually integrating and professionalizing according to international standards, just like what Thailand, Japan and South Korea have done.
His success in the naturalization process can become a model for many other foreign players who have been with the V-League for a long time, encouraging them to raise their awareness, attitude and desire to contribute to the common development of Vietnamese football.
