Information about the homeland's sea and islands is no longer far away for students in the highlands of Lao Cai, but has become familiar and close through propaganda activities, directly communicated by naval soldiers who guard the sacred sea and islands of the Fatherland every day.

Listening to the navy soldiers talk and learn more about the sea and islands of the Fatherland is like a special lesson for students, fostering patriotism and national pride. The propaganda session has erased the geographical distance, making the sea and islands closer and more familiar to cadres and students in the highlands of Lao Cai .

Student Vui Luu Ha Phuong, class 11A, Bat Xat District Boarding Secondary and High School for Ethnic Minorities, shared: I feel proud and understand more about the role of the sea and islands, the feats and sacrifices of soldiers at the forefront. That pride and gratitude help me appreciate peace and love my country more.

As for Phan May, a student of class 12A7, Bat Xat High School No. 1, the conversation was like a special extracurricular lesson, with fascinating information. She shared: “I have never set foot on the sea or islands, but through this meaningful activity, I got to meet navy soldiers and learn more about the sea and islands of the Fatherland. As a student, I understand that I need to make efforts in my studies to contribute to building my homeland.”

Propaganda work on seas and islands plays a particularly important role, thereby raising awareness of borders, seas and islands, while at the same time arousing the responsibility, role and position of the people, including the young generation, in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, creating consensus to effectively implement the Party and State's viewpoints on seas and islands and sovereignty over seas and islands. In recent years, implementing the Program of coordinating propaganda on seas and islands between Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee and the Navy Party Committee, propaganda work on seas and islands has been concretized through specific and practical activities and tasks, including propaganda on seas and islands for students in the highlands of Lao Cai.

Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Dinh Phuong, Political Commissar of the 131st Naval Engineering Brigade, said: This is the second time the unit has come to the Bat Xat highlands. Through propaganda activities, we hope that students will better understand the task of protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands in the new period and the glorious history of the Vietnam Navy. From there, foster love for the country and arouse the responsibility of young people in protecting the integrity of the homeland's territory, seas and islands. In addition, we provide information for students to understand about naval soldiers, about the Vietnam Navy and have more career orientation in the future. Thereby, contributing to supplementing human resources to build a regular, modern Navy and meet the needs of building and protecting the Fatherland in the new situation.

Teachers and students of the school are very proud to meet and listen to officers and soldiers share information about Vietnam's seas and islands. We hope that this activity will continue to be of interest and maintained in the future so that students in the highlands of Bat Xat will have more opportunities to learn about remote islands, adding more love and motivation to their efforts.

Teacher Vu Xuan Sang, Vice Principal of Bat Xat District Boarding Secondary and High School for Ethnic Minorities

The propaganda sessions on the sea and islands have been effective, serving as a bridge for students in the Lao Cai border area to better understand the responsibilities, work and life of cadres, soldiers and people at the forefront; fostering patriotism in the younger generation and a sense of responsibility in protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands. Thereby creating a combined strength to contribute to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 8th Central Committee, Session XI, on "Strategy for protecting the Fatherland in the new situation"; Resolution 36 of the 12th Central Committee of the Party on "Strategy for sustainable development of Vietnam's marine economy to 2030, vision to 2045".
