As a land with many cultural heritages, Nghi Son town has implemented many solutions to preserve and promote cultural values in life and create conditions for sustainable tourism development.

Hoang Quoc Cong Dao Duy Tu Temple in Nguyen Binh Ward is a historical and cultural relic that was ranked as a national relic by the State in 2022. Previously, in 2017, the temple was restored and in December 2021, it was recognized as a provincial tourist destination.
Mr. Le Van Binh, the temple keeper, said: "Since the day the temple was restored and the festivals on his birthday and death anniversary were re-established, many people and groups of visitors have come to offer incense and learn about the life and career of Hoang Quoc Cong Dao Duy Tu."
In recent years, local Party committees and authorities have directed the organization of activities to preserve and promote the value of cultural heritage. Accordingly, in addition to allocating budget resources from the Central and the province, the town has also proactively called for socialization in the work of restoring and embellishing relics, and at the same time conducting inventories, classifications, and assessments of the current status of relics in the area. Relics and scenic spots have been invested in, restored, and embellished, meeting the needs of beliefs, historicaleducation , and sightseeing needs of tourists.
Up to now, the town has coordinated to invest in the restoration and embellishment of 16 relics including: Quang Trung - Lach Bang scenic relic cluster, Le Dinh Chau temple relic, Am Cac mountain historical relic and scenic spot and Am Cac pagoda, historical relic of the town Party Committee, Bien Son relic complex, Khanh Trach temple relic cluster - Thien Vuong pagoda... The total investment capital for the work of preserving and promoting the value of cultural heritage is nearly 73.7 billion VND, of which 20.7 billion VND is from the provincial budget, 46.8 billion VND is from the town budget, the rest is from other legally mobilized sources.
In addition to renovating, embellishing, and preventing the degradation of relics, the town has researched, collected, restored, prevented the loss, and promoted typical types of intangible cultural heritage, contributing to educating the historical and cultural traditions of the area to the people and tourists. Typical examples include the Coconut Village Festival (Xuan Lam Ward), the New Rice Festival in Tam Son and Dong Lach villages (Tan Truong Commune), the Cau Ngu Festival (Hai Thanh and Hai Binh Wards), and the rice cooking competition (Hai Nhan Ward).
With many investment activities, preservation, promotion of traditional cultural values to improve the quality of tourist services, in 2023, the town welcomed more than 1.2 million tourists, creating jobs for thousands of local workers. New and diverse tourism products are preserved, promoted and promoted, contributing to bringing the image of Nghi Son in particular and Thanh Hoa in general closer to people across the country.
Nguyen Van Tra, Deputy Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Nghi Son town, said: The town has 203 tangible cultural heritages, including 32 historical and cultural relics and scenic spots that have been ranked, of which 3 historical and cultural relics are ranked at the national level, 29 historical and cultural relics and scenic spots are ranked at the provincial level; 171 relic sites have been inventoried and protected. The town also preserves many traditional festivals that have been and are being considered for inclusion in the list of national intangible cultural heritages.
To preserve cultural values and promote tourism development, the Town's Department of Culture and Information will advise the Town Party Committee and the Town's People's Committee to mobilize investment funds and have additional mechanisms to preserve and promote cultural heritage values. At the same time, seek support and coordination from provincial departments, branches and sectors in the work of preserving and promoting cultural heritage values in conjunction with planning, traffic development and tourism development; develop plans to restore and embellish key relics, and propose the Provincial People's Committee to recognize them as spiritual tourism destinations. At the same time, invest in traffic routes and other technical infrastructure connecting with tourist areas and destinations in the area to develop tours and tourist routes in the future.
