Information from the Regional Radio Frequency Center I (Radio Frequency Department, Ministry of Science and Technology ) said that for nearly a month, people living and working at houses 253, 255, 269 Kim Ma, Hanoi have encountered a confusing situation.
In this area, many motorbikes using smart keys cannot be started. The owners are forced to take their motorbikes outside to start them.
Immediately after receiving feedback from people via Fanpage on the afternoon of August 23, the Center quickly sent a Working Group to the scene on the morning of August 24.
Through the measurement process, the authorities identified the "culprit" causing the interference as a QR code scanning device used to compare Vietlott results.
This device has a technical error, continuously emitting interference signals directly to the 433.05 - 434.79 MHz frequency band, a frequency band exempted from licensing for remote control devices such as smart keys according to Circular 08/2021/TT-BTTTT.
Immediately after the jammer was dealt with, the smart locks of all vehicles in the area returned to normal operation, ending the inconvenience and anxiety of the residents.
Authorities and experts recommend that people and organizations should only buy and use radio wave application devices with clear origin and source, ensuring corresponding technical standards (certified conformity, declared conformity, and labeled conformity).
When encountering suspected interference with smart keys, people can report it via hotline 0862.92.92.92 of the Radio Frequency Department, or notify the regional Radio Frequency Centers across the country, or the local Departments of Information and Communications.
