According to the Thanh Ha District Agricultural Service Center, most lychee trees in the district are currently in the flowering stage, especially the white egg lychee variety (the earliest variety), which has a flowering rate of over 85%. Although the lychee flowers bloomed about a week later this year than last year, thanks to the proactive and experienced efforts of the farmers, the trees are growing well.
To ensure a bumper lychee harvest, Thanh Ha district has directed communes and towns with lychee orchards to closely monitor weather conditions and pest and disease outbreaks in order to guide farmers in timely care and prevention. Lychee growers are also actively implementing irrigation measures to supplement moisture, helping the trees develop favorably in dry weather conditions.
With a total lychee cultivation area of 3,285 hectares, Thanh Ha district continues to promote the development of standardized growing areas, strictly managing growing area codes and packaging facilities according to the regulations of importing countries. Farmers are encouraged to apply VietGAP and GlobalGAP processes to improve product quality. Thanh Ha aims for a lychee production target of 35,000 tons in 2025.
