From July 1, along with the whole country, Lang Son province officially operated the 2-level local government model. Accordingly, the whole province arranged 194 commune-level administrative units into 65 communes and wards. This led to major changes in the names, administrative codes and locations of communes and wards. With the principle of not interrupting services and not affecting people, the provincial postal sector has proactively implemented many plans to ensure that the activities of receiving, processing, transporting and delivering letters and postal items take place smoothly and effectively.
Ms. Trieu Thuy Linh, Deputy Director in charge of Van Quan Post Office, said: Currently, the unit has 20 service points with a total of 38 officers, employees, and workers. On average, each month, the unit receives more than 3,000 postal items from agencies and people in the area; the amount of postal items, official documents, and newspapers delivered to state agencies and people each month averages more than 11,000 postal items. In the past time, the unit has proactively developed a production and business plan according to the new administrative boundaries; reviewed and updated the area, adjusted the delivery route directory, and arranged staff in accordance with the administrative scope after the merger. At the same time, the unit actively deployed an address lookup tool to ensure that all customer transactions take place smoothly.
Currently, the postal network of the Provincial Post Office is spread across the province with a total of 221 service points, including post offices and postal-cultural points in communes. The Provincial Post Office is currently operating 1 inter-provincial mail route with a frequency of 3 trips/day; 3 intra-provincial mail routes with a frequency of 2 trips/day and 141 mail routes to communes with a frequency of 1 trip/day. Regarding the delivery network, the total number of delivery routes in the province is currently 254, responsible for delivering over 11,000 postal items/day. Therefore, standardizing the service point network is the top priority of the postal sector when there is a change in administrative boundaries.
In order to ensure that the process of exploiting, transporting and delivering postal items is not interrupted in the new situation, the Provincial Post Office has effectively applied the administrative address conversion lookup tool at https://diachi.vnpost.vn, allowing users to use both types of addresses (old and new). Currently, the tool has been directly integrated into the My Vietnam Post application and the My Vietnam Post website. Accordingly, the system will automatically map between the old and new addresses, making it easy for users to operate. Through this tool, users can easily find a new address from the old address and vice versa. This feature is especially useful in storing and checking customer information, as well as ensuring the accuracy of delivery, customer care and data operations, etc.
Along with that, the Provincial Post Office continues to effectively operate technology applications at all stages from ordering, transportation to customer care, reconciliation, payment, management, monitoring... The Vietnam Post information technology system is connected and synchronized with smart devices, handheld devices to create a complete ecosystem in the closed operation process of the service cycle such as: My VietnamPost Plus App for customers, Dingdong delivery application for postmen, Pack and send message dispatching software, TMS transportation management system, Ipphone switchboard system...
With the synchronous solutions deployed throughout the provincial postal system, it has significantly contributed to ensuring smooth postal operations in the area; actively contributing to improving the unit's production and business efficiency. The unit's revenue results in the first 6 months of the year reached 48.3% of the annual plan, reaching 102.6% of the plan, up 46.3% over the same period in 2024.
Mr. Hua Minh Chi, Tam Thanh Ward said: Working in the fashion clothing business, I often send and receive items through the postal system. The operation of the new government model has changed the administrative boundaries of communes and wards. Many customers have new addresses with new names, so at first, I was also very worried, afraid that the postal items would be lost, customers would not receive them or receive them but late, making customers dissatisfied. However, over the past month, the orders I sent through the postal system have all been delivered to the correct address, on time and received positive feedback. In the future, I will still trust and choose the postal system to deliver orders to customers as soon as possible.
Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Xuan, Director of the Provincial Post Office, said: With the goal of not interrupting service provision and always being ready to support people, as soon as there was official information about the change of administrative boundaries, the Provincial Post Office proactively updated the software system, address data, postal address codes and delivery routes according to the new administrative list; effectively deployed the application of address lookup tools, software applications... Thereby contributing to improving service quality, bringing convenience and satisfaction to organizations, people and businesses.
In the coming time, the Provincial Post Office will continue to innovate comprehensively, organize new production and business models, launch the "Commune Post Office" model; increase the application of information technology, strongly implement the "Digital Education for the People" movement; strengthen human resource training, digital knowledge and skills training for cadres, employees, and workers... Thereby improving business capacity, accompanying local authorities in socio-economic development.
