Born and raised in a farming family in Vinh Thinh commune, Vinh Loc district (old) now Bien Thuong commune, Trinh Thu Hien, a 12D student at Tong Duy Tan High School, has excellently achieved 29.5 points in block C00 (Literature 9.5; History 10; Geography 10). That achievement is not only the pride of her family, teachers and friends, but also a testament to her journey of rising up with will and determination.

Sharing her joy, Hien said: "When I came back from the exam, I compared it with the answers from the Ministry of Education and Training and calculated my score myself, so I was not surprised about the score. I was just quite surprised about being the runner-up in the C00 block nationwide and the valedictorian of the province."

According to Hien, she is quite confident in History and Geography because she has prepared thoroughly, and achieving a perfect score in these two subjects is within her expectations. For Literature, this year's exam has a completely new way of asking questions, in an open direction. "When I read the Literature exam, I was quite surprised, it took me a few minutes to figure out the topic and how to develop it" - Hien shared.

On the day the Ministry of Education and Training announced the exam scores, Hien still did not dare to look at the scores herself, but had to ask her brother to look them up. When he announced that she had scored 29.5 points, her joy was overwhelming. “When I found out my score, I was so happy. I immediately called my father, who was at work at the time, and then told my mother, teachers, and friends, and received many congratulations in return.”

Trinh Thu Hien said that since entering high school, she has liked studying social subjects (Literature, History, Geography). During class, she pays attention to the teachers' lectures and takes full notes. At home, she mainly studies by herself and practices according to the teachers' methods to improve her writing skills and practice her test-taking speed.

Sharing about the method of doing Literature exercises, Hien said: “To understand the open-ended types of exercises, you first need to grasp the method of doing the exercises, master the basic knowledge in the textbook and the expanded knowledge when the teacher teaches. Only then can you apply it to the open-ended types of exercises. Any type of test requires knowledge and logical connection, as long as you understand the rules, you will do well.”

In the near future, Hien plans to apply to the Faculty of Literature Pedagogy at Hanoi National University of Education. “I want to become a teacher so that I can impart knowledge to generations of students in the future. Moreover, studying pedagogy will be exempted from tuition fees and supported with study costs, helping to reduce the financial burden on the family,” Hien confided.

Mr. Le Van Dung, homeroom teacher of class 12D, assessed that his student has great determination, always tries to overcome all his own limits, is obedient and studies well.

“In grade 12, Hien won third prize in the provincial excellent student contest in Geography. With Hien's recent high school graduation exam score, the school was not surprised because in the mock exams organized by the school and the Department of Education and Training, Hien was always in the group of students with the highest scores."

Always persistent, striving and training herself through each lecture and each exam, Trinh Thu Hien is proof of the truth: Success will come to those who constantly strive.
